I was amazed to find myself 'home alone' yesterday & although reduced to playing on the floor I took the opportunity to have a crack at Spot the Spotter.
I had an AI Rumpler escorted by two AI Pfalz D.III scouts v 2 Sopwith Camels driven by me.
I started the Spotter Patrol in the centre of the field of play & diced on the Camels - One approaching from 2 o'clock, the other from 6 o'clock.
The escorts did not respond very well to the attack & spent alot of their time trying to get back into the fight - roundly cursed by the Rumpler crew who made a good account of themselves. Here's some of the action

Good idea Dave - do you want to join the Eagles or the Bulldogs?

Whatever - you need 2 personal pilots, 6 AI pilots (1-2 twoseater crews included) and 8 planes.

You may also have one pilot for a scout (with set plane type) and one two-seater crew (with set plane type) and 6 NPC pilots, mostly used as AI. The NPC's may switch planes, using the squadron's airplane pool, into which you contribute with 6 planes of your choice.

The planes must be available in October 1917, though, so no Fokker D.VII's or Sopwith Snipes.

I am happy to be either side; I would default to Bulldogs, naturally, but will just as happily play the Eagles if it brings a balance to the campaigners so you chaps let me know & I will oblige !

Frankly, as I read the casualty roster well, we the Eagles have 13 victories, while the Bulldogs have 8. The Bulldogs have more KIAs as well. Choose whatever side you wish:D

Andrzej, the Bulldogs' roster may not be fully updated yet. I still may not have all the data from everyone.

What I meant was to bring a balance to the player numbers on each side not the cas roster - though I may manage that too !!
As I said I'm happy to be either side but will default to the Bulldogs if there is no objection.
Jan - do you want me to start from Mission 3 or shall we calculate casualties etc from the missions I have already done to get me up to speed ?

Sure, calculate it from mission 2, and come up with names of your pilots and their airplanes so that I can add them to the roster. Just mind, that we are in October 1917 when you select the airplanes.

Your player characters should have the rank of Leutnant for Kaiser's Adler or Flying Officer for Bulldogs.

Just a short note to Dave: please remember to create 2 Player Characters (run by you) and 6 Non Player Characters (run by AI).

I don't see any reason why Dave shouldn't start with mission 1, do you see any Jan?
The one restriction is he ought to use so to say unknown pilots for the opposite side up to mission 3 (The Hunter is a guest pilot anyway), so they wouldn't interfere with your roster.

It's up to Dave to enlist. He is welcome!

The Kaisers will drink to the new chivalrous opponent on the other side of the front.
