Paperback Summary:
On the go since 1985, Windsock International magazine (latterly branded as Windsock Worldwide) started life as a B&W quarterly release, since upgraded to full colour and bi-monthly. While not exclusively so, its subject matter is largely confined to military aircraft in WWI, and aimed primarily at modellers, although it retains a large interest for wargamers and also those with a general interest in WWI aviation. While retaining photos and colour profiles, the details of content and format have changed over the years, but as an example the current issue (Vol.28/1, Jan/Feb 2012) runs to 32pp plus full-colour covers, containing Frontline News (upcoming events), Logbook Entries (book and magazine reviews), a 5-page article on Fokker Eindekkers, 'Modelling Master Class', Rara Avis (Hanriot HD3 C.2 including 1/48 scale plans), Flying Scale News (a 2:3 scale (!) Hanriot HD1), a flying replica Fokker D.VIII, Kitbag (model and decal reviews: alas no 1/144 scale) and Rudder Post (reader's letters). While pretty expensive for the page count, Windsock Worldwide can justifiably claim to be 'the finest resource for all WWI model aeroplane enthusiasts'. http://www.windsockdatafilespecials.co.uk/index.asp 376933769237694
