Yes I do build the metal kits too!

My trio of Skytrex Gothas. More work than I had hoped, had to drill all the struts and even up the wings.

The wing thickness had to be adjusted as well, quick to do on a table top belt sander!

Added the mounting ball on the bottom-love the gun tunnel relief as well

Fun to paint! Not too many colors to choose from

Used the Wing Nut Wings colors and decals

Nice to get a crew with a model kit! These guys have been in service for 6 months and are starting to show some wear and chipping-typical of the metal models. It is nice to be able to re-bend the nose gun though!

Heavy on the stands and tippy, I like the weight of the models but the Shapeways are still better players IMHO

Get these engines running! Clipper

 As usual Clipper, great work.
I gave up on the metal kits after a Skytrex Sopwith Triplane.
Only shapeways for me as their lightness is much more "user friendly" for gaming!

Incidently have you counted just how many aircraft you now have. :cheezy:

Don't ask him that, it would be like dividing by zero!

Nice work as always clipper :)

Yeah, 8 Gothas in hand, 5 G1's and 2 of each of the new Ares ones on the way, I guess I should start a "Wings of Gotha" group or maybe a cult! Yeah, that's it, "Gothas of Glory" yeah, maybe more therapy is needed. Clippered

Very nice models butt as stated heavy. I have gone Barry's way and now use shapeways (and I am useless at making metal models).

When I made my Gotha, I was very kindly supplied with a set of resin wings, which made all the difference. The new Skytrex Heavy Bombers all have resin wings.

The right kind of madness in my opinion. Can I join the Gotha group?!

There's an Idea!
Let's see how many Gothas we can get on the playing matt(s), and how many scouts it takes to (try) to stop them.
Then we can switch off, with HP 1/400s :eek:
