Ordered in White Soft Flexible, Polished; no pre-treatment, but ended up getting several gloss coats during the decal process. When I started I was worried that the personal insignia would be too big for the Siemens-Schuckert, but in the end I was really pleased with how well it filled the space.

Hey! I've fought against that very plane! (Well, at the very least it was in the sky at the same time as I was, though I don't recall if we traded shots.)

The next time we play you should fly that and I'll fly my Udet D.III.

 Very nice work, Todd especially the Lozenge on the Wings.
How did you find the Polished WSF? Less powdery than the normal WSF?

Thank you! After finishing, I decided I'm not overly keen on the big orange stripe that ended up in the middle of the span; if I ever do another one I'll shift the pattern so that I end up with 2 orange stripes under the crosses. That is, unless I find evidence that the 45 degree angle lozenge patterns didn't actually reverse their directions. It seems most of the model images I can find don't bother to, but I can't hunt down any good images of an actual Siemens-Schuckert wing on the internet.

In general I'm finding the polished to be about right for my modeling needs. I bought one unpolished plane as a test case, and feel it came out with a similar finish to the polished with a soaking, a light scrubbing (there were a lot of crannies, like the entire area between the fuselage an upper wing, filled with loose material), and 3 coats of watered down PVA. Of course one of my "polished" planes also showed up much rougher than the others, but I'm thinking they just forgot to run it through. In any event, I'd say it's worth the extra buck on models you can order it in. The bombers will just take some extra coats of glue, since they're too big for the machine.
