Rather than just a commentary on the War Diary, there is a readable narrative with insights into the personalities involved in addition to the actions, accompanied by 32 pages of photographs of the men and machines that made up GC12. The latter half of the book is taken up with appendices detailing everything from the known personnel, their victories and decorations, and airfields used, to illustrations and commentary on the markings of each of the escadrilles which made up the Groupe. Overall, a good read and a very handy reference.
