History Format:
Hardback Summary:
Subtitled 'Facts, Figures and Photos on the Fate of over 300 Top Pilots flying over the Western Front', in 218pp it details in chronological order the fate of the great aces and less well-known pilots shot down (KIA, WIA, POW) from Sergent A C Pegoud in 1915 to 2Lt W A Howden and Lt E O Amm just prior to the 1918 Armistice. Considereing the breadth of the subject matter, which it covers in reasonabel detail, the narrative flows quite well, and can either be read cover-to-cover or dipped into due to the well-headed chapters and sections. Also contains 24 pages of photos; a handy reference for usmc1855's ID the pilot quizzes!
