Hello All,
We had a blast down in Dayton Saturday the 11th. We got in 3 scenarios. I will try to give you all a little break down of each.

Wake Island "Pacific"
34240
Left to right; Mike, Luis, Benjamin, Dave, Bob and Ken.

34241
Here we have Ben in the back ground in his Wildcat fending off two Zeros Luis and Bob. Ken in the middle shooting down Dave. Ken even did it while his bird was smoking. Finally Mike and me are mixing it up in the foreground.

34242
Here's a close up of Kens kill.

34243
Here's Ben chasing Bob in his Zero. But Bob was too crafty for Ben and with some fancy flying came around and shot Ben down.
34244
Bob even took out a ground target while fending off Ben. In Ben's defense he did have two Zeros mixing it up with him.

34245
Now Mike out maneuvered me and took out a AA gun that was giving Luis a bit of a problem but I came back around and took Mike out. I had friends down there. I can't say the same for Ken. As he was shot up as much as any Zero that day.;)

34246
Here Dave got behind Ken and took him out. As Ken bailed he was still yelling at the AA guns.

Over all the Japanese took out all the targets and won the scenario giving credit for taking out targets go to, Mike Luis and Bob. Bob being the big winner with a kill as well.

Here's Bob enjoying the victory.
34247

Hope you all enjoyed the report and I will try to get the others done this week.

Add me to the playing surface love. Using a map of Wake Island adds so much to the visuals. And thanks for a great AAR.

White Cliffs of Dover.

34276

Flying for the Axis was Luis, Mike, Dave and Bob. Flying for the Allies was Ken, Ben, Thomas Coon and me CappyTom. Thomas showed up a little late but got in on the second scenario. We were all glad to see him. This was a timed scenario. I will try to hit the high points and write out the scenario for download later.

34277
The Germans wanted to take out the radar towers and we weren't going to let them. We met them out in the channel. Some got through and started shooting at anything they thought to be an antenna. Mike busted through and took out one of the radar towers. I was mixing it up chasing a yellow nosed fighter when he, AKA Dave, got on my tail and took me out. I had a cold and wet swim.

34278
Luis, in his ME-109, was defending his buddies and shot down Ben. Thomas Coon, in his spitfire, came up behind Luis let him go for a swim as well. Thomas Coon kept it up and also took out Dave. Making him the big winner in the end. The boy had the magic touch. Over all the Allies won this one.

P.S. one more to come.

Thanks for steering me to this thread Tom. That mat looks superb. If I may ask you. Who does the mats and what are they made from?

Superb event and a fantastic mat. Any "how to" as far as the mat is concerned, Tom?

Luis AKA IBERIAN SHADOW (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/member.php?3075-IBERIAN-SHADOW) makes the mats. Made from a heavy poly vinyl. You can send him any photo and he will tell you if the resolution is good enough to enlarge for a 4'x6' mat. Or any of the mats you've seen me play with lately he can make for you as well. I really love the mats and on the White Cliffs of Dover I have to thanks Lorenzo AKA PAV (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/member.php?691-PAV) for his help getting the great resolution. Thanks Lorenzo.

The last one guys. Luis came up with this one. We had limited time and wanted to do one more.

34437
Didn't get a shot of the starting position but of the first kill.

IBERIAN SHADOW (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/member.php?3075-IBERIAN-SHADOW) has a great idea for a quick game as well. Use tokens with all different numbers on them. Assign every one a number them mix them up and have ever player place one face down on the mat at least one stick from each other. The players can't look at the number they are placing so no one knows where anyone is. Then each number is flipped over and the plane is place facing the bottom of the number, showing which way the plane will face at the start of the game. After the second maneuver card is done anyone can shoot. The first team to get two planes down wins. Do you understand or am I bad at explaining this too ya.:p

34447
The scoring was if you shot down a plane you got the total number of damage points that plane carried. Then you would subtract the total number of damage points you have on your plane and that is your score at the end of the game. So if you got no kills and took no damage you would be at zero.
It started out with one big fur-ball. After taking some hits Ken took out Bob. Then me being a skilled pilot, and very lucky;), I got on Luis' tail and wouldn't let him go. after several evasive moves I finally took him out. Winning the scenario for our side and having the highest score sense I didn't take any damage won the bragging rights till next time, as Luis and I have been trash talking up until the game day.;)

Sounds like a really good way to start a game producing a real fog of war. With hidden altitude included it could amount to some real fun.
I like the idea a lot Tom.

I saw a thread with this great maps before, but without AAR.

That was fun to read!

Wish I was there to give the japs hell or support the Adlertag with a Stuka.
