No SHAPEWAYS! You crazy keyboard! While many were glued to the TV this weekend I was glued to my workbench! It started with a few Gothas . . .

Still in the "wings" lonely and primed, maybe later after all the family is asleep the Clipper Elves will gather . . . too much paint solvent fumes . . .

Clipper back to the Zeppelin assembly line.
Good Lord! Glued to the workbench is right!
That's about a lifetime's work for some of us (and beyond that for others!).
Fantastic work. Particularly love the Blue Coppens Hanriot - where did you get the thistle decal??

Impressive... My Goodness, I am on my knees. Fantastic builds and paintjobs.
Do you have a factory out there, or employ some people? I can hardly imagine myself completing such works in a year!

Had I not SEEN it I would not belive, . One question how many do you fly at one time, or do you have time?

Ahh the elves slip in at night, I have never seen them myself nor used a whip ever! I do leave cookies out and they are normally gone by dawn. As for gaming, I like to fly at least two at a time and up to 5. I love flying a series of bombers in formations with escorts, have learned the hard way why they did not fly close formations! The bombers swing a wide path when they turn.
As for the speed of the builds and the paints, I prime my models the day they arrive in groups of 8-12 models, four coats or so, then let them cure for a while. When painting time is found I group common base colors and paint one, then the next and the next. If you do four at a time the first one is dry and ready for a second coat of paint when you finish the last one, making the process a continuous one. I also do not use any masking or airbrushing any more. Spent 3 years as a sign painter and learned how to pull paint in straight lines which makes pin stripping quite easy, also speeding up the process. Good brushes and good paint make the day fun or not.
Clipper's Book Of Madness Chapter 42
Amazing work. Quite impressive. I've tried to assembly line painting method and have found it difficult. Glad to see it works so very well for you!!!
Madness, blissful madness!
A prodigious production for a weekend that's for sure. Just wish I could afford that many !

Of all the skills and accomplishments you've demonstrated here, I think this is the one I'm most jealous of.
I've use assembly-line painting successfully for miniatures armies, but not vehicles. Your output is only less than your skill.

Flash will like the latest builds, here's a pre-view: Just finishing the fuselages, wing lozenges and crosses next,

And of course why make one when you can make 4? Practice makes perfect, and takes up space!

Great job; are the fuselage decals 1 piece or 3?

Six, top, side rear x 2, side front x 2, bottom. I found I needed to split the decal at the rear cabane strut to make the decal lay flat. When I am all done I will do a photo build, learned a lot about diamonds and checkers!

We can all use that one David. I'm just about to revisit conic sections for the first time in twenty years with the awsome thought that they have got to have
chequers on them.

OMG... When do you sleep?
Are the Hans-Brandenburg 29's shapeways and if so did you use the Reversco decals as they particularly caught my eye. Notice your backlog makes mine look minimal and you will have them all painted before I do mine:thumbsup::surrender:

The HB-29 is a Shapeways and the lozenge and markings were stickers I made from images on line and from the Pearson book.

That is impressive David. Not least in the context of your huge output. It took me an age just to get the letter C into the exact middle of the diamond when I did mine, and i used Reverisco decals to save time.
Annother feather in yor already resplendent cap.

I have used the Reviresco decals on a Shapeways HB-29, haven't quite finished yet as having trouble matching the pale blue/grey colour of the decals with the paints that I have.
The fit isn't too bad the worst bit is in the curve at the rear of the wing next to the fuselage which I can probably fix.
The decals also include a extra spare rectangle of lozenge pattern.
It should look good when finished.
I don't believe he sleeps. However, we are glad to have him. When I show him my paintings I feel like a kindergartner showing his finger painting to Rembrandt. With Clipper here I can only improve!
