Plastic bases hard to pick up

Hi all im new to the game, just three weeks in and loving it, but am finding it hard to pick up the plastic bases with the planes on them while playing, has anyone else found this and is there a solution someone has allready thought of, thanks.

Most pick up the plane/base by either the plane or the stand. This can cause the stand/plane to come off though. There is a thread going about how to solve that issues though.
