Two Tripehounds for Christmas

First two off the blocks from the bunch of Shapeways stuff I got for Xmas - a couple of Sopwith Triplanes.

Both are frosted ultra detail material, with Peter Pig drivers. For a change I decided to do one as a French Aviation Maritime machine based at Dunkerque. I used Dom' Decals roundels with the centre spot painted a darker blue, and WoG Aerodrome Accessories numbers

The second one I painted as a Naval 8 Triplane, ex-Bob Little's. The decals all came from a SRAM kit that I had spare.

Nice work, and the French Triplane is something you don't see too often. Although they're generally described as having a standard PC10 (or PC12) finish with French National markings (and possibly an anchor on the tail as a Naval escadrille) there's a photo in one of the Grub Street books which shows '17' with what appears to me to be a two-colour (at least) camouflaged fuselage, but I've never been able to dig up any more on it.

Wasn't too fond of this plane until I got Rise of Flight. After doing one quick mission on it I had to start a career with the plane and quickly fell in love with it. These two look just as good as the real things. Nice job!
