I wish I had upper wing rondels with an outer white circle, but I didn't. Oh well. I should have worked on the skull and crossbones wheel covers to make them stand out a little more. Given that this was something of a rush job (it being Xmas and all, there's not much time for painting), I'm fairly happy with the results.

My quest to paint planes flying the skull and crossbones continues...

Great, good job.
I'm just painting this plane myself and tried painting the skull and cross bones on the wheels, it was a disaster.
I will try again but if it doesn't work out I think I will go floor plain red wheels like you.

Nice John, I am also having a go at this with a Skytrex model, for some reason am having problems painting the tail fin.
I used some home made decals for the Skull & xbones

Thanks!
These are homemade decals. They came out okay, but I should have spent more time cleaning up the skull and crossbones on the wheel covers. But the time they were reduced down to 144 the crossed bones weren't very visible.

I can't wait to fly it. I'm trying to amass a collection of B-gun planes so our group can play games with some variety (i.e., early planes, as opposed to the D.VII and Snipe crowd).

 Well done John!
You should have no trouble finding German 2 seaters with the Skull & Cross Bones & there were some French ones as well.:D

Funny you should say that ... I'm doing a CL.II based on this scheme.

You mean Fernand Maximillian Leon Jacquet's one?

Which interpretation of the colours do you want?
