I've moved these from the original thread in which they appeared so as to have them in the "3D Printed Models" sub-forum.

Colinwe's Siemens-Schuckert D.I, in the raw.

As you can see the wings droop. Also, there's no hole for the prop, which proved to be a bit of a pain since my pin vise is missing.

Some hot water was all that was needed to straighten the wings.

And here is the finished product. I think it looks pretty good. Almost all of the fuzziness was covered by paint. You can make out some of it here, but on the table, no one would ever notice.

 Nice work that!
I think our new recruit "Pinkcamo" might make you an offer for that one!;)

Actually, they all tend to look like that, some fuzz visible on undercart and prop at 6", but that's about it. On the table, it's impossible to notice.

What makes the most difference - as here - is the skill of the painter.

That paint job looks superb John. The camo is a real treat, and just goes to show what you can do with Shapeways with a bit of care and skill.

BTW I just dealt with some moderate bananawing on some bombers. 10 secs in hot tap water, and they straightened out while in the water. One Caudron took 30 secs and two dips though.

Thanks folks.

Zoe, yep, it's an easy fix when you know the hot water trick!
