Another Roland ??? hoorah , I like Rolands :)
Just spotted them myself but that will have to be another order.
Yup, looks like another PayPal expenditure! :D:money::money:
pity they didn't see much action, as they are such snazzy planes!

Such wonderful looking planes. And they saw much more action than for example the SSW DIV or the Fokker D.VIII. They were just in the shadow of the Fokker D.VII
For the more detail oriented - Here is an original american flight test from after the war (note that the speed reading is too slow as they used a wrong propeller): http://www.internetmodeler.com/references/roland_dvib.pdf
Some fine profiles for the D.VIa here http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/A6856B82A49A578494396F716C430116
It seems that the planes were given to the Bavarian Jastas...

I just received one from Shapeways in error - I ordered a Berg! Which leaves 2 problems, how can I tell if mine is an "a" or a "b", and what deck to use??

The size of the balanced ailerons was slightly larger on the 'b' - it also had balanced elevators. If yours is the same as the pic above, I'd say it was an 'a'
Hi - Cheers - checked and its a "B"

With such similarity in appearance, allied sightings and combat reports of the Rolands may have listed it them at Albatros D.Vs.
