Not for sale yet... may not be 1/144 ( has an 8" wingspan so I really think it is)... but here 'tis, from colinwe

Doing a quick calculation it must be 1/144.
Very nice but what the price?

Excellent! Better start saving. I'd expect it to be about USD30.

Depends on how hollow it can be made, but yes, comparable to an O/400, a bit more than a G.III or G.IIIa.

I'll be taking one of each in my next order.

I'm reliably informed the finishing touches are being put on now, and both versions should be available soonish.

Cool. I've asked for a Skytrex one for my birthday. Probably too late to change that now. Then again, I love flying boats, so maybe I'll buy these too.

Hi, finally got the Felixstowe on. The first one is the late version; rear gunners side panels are open, so theres a nice hole ready to fill with mg's (which looks good and saves plastic). Early version will appear very shortly; its 99.9% done, just want to add a couple of things but I've been bogged down with college visits and interviews (the daughter not me, I'm far too old) at present hence the delays. And my wife insists I get my priorities in order :surrender:

Did she specify which order?

Do you have a recommended source for Machine Gun mounts?
Edit: or are those the things hanging on back there with the props?

Well she gave me a 'look' everytime i went near the computer, so i think it was implied.

I've added mg's onto a sprue at the back (mg's are very difficult to do accurately in this scale due to material tolerances); because of the varied arrangement possible its a case of putting whatever you want wherever. The rear side panel guns are mounted on a Y shaped mounted, horizontal to the opening (though I have been told this varied across time?); some decent pictures of this can be found from models in a google image search. Hope that helps, its basic, but I know more knowledgeable people on here will give you the right answers.

Just realised the 3d viewer works now on Shapeways, I couldnt get it to work before.

Doh! So all you need to do is click the little 3d cube to the right of the image and that will set it in motion. Cool.

I like it... but have not jumped on the Shapeways bandwagon yet due to lack of funds.... maybe in a few months... after I finish writing the 300+ Thank You cards from my move...

I think the Hanriot HD1s, both single and dual gun versions, are possibly the nicest models I've seen in any medium. The problem with constructing kits is that unless you're really, really skilled, getting the "sit" of the aircraft right is insanely difficult. Everything can be just right (in theory), but it doesn't look quite right, nothing you can put your finger on, just an overall impression.

With these models, there's no problem with that. They need some work on the finish - but no more so than most metal kits, and much less than the ones where sanding and milliput are essential. The only downside is that when looking for flaws in the Shapeways stuff, you become aware of imperfections in the F-toys and Nexus models you didn't notice before.

Hi, just a quicky.

The early Felixstowe is now on; even better news (for me), my daughters got her college place so I don't have to traipse around colleges or attend interviews from now on ;)

I must be a bit slow but you can also alter the orientation of the 3D view by pressing the left mouse button and dragging the plane to the angle you want, after acouple of seconds it starts to rotate in the new orientation.
Found it very useful when checking the detail on the Shapeways planes.

He has a lot of space stuff, and a few WW1 planes with no scale listed, in multi packs.
Maybe he noticed the traffic to Kampfflreiger and Colinwe's pages?

Some of his older WW1 aircraft aren't so good - space between wing struts, undercart, tail booms filled in.

Those one are also about 1/300 scale from the looks of it, possibly smaller. Look at the dimensions.
