Seaplanes Vol.2 has been announced for release at the end of Jan 2012.

Three each (plus the inevitable 'specials' of:

Aichi E16A Zuiun 'PAUL'
Vought OS2U Kingfisher

26472

Possibly at RAF or RAAF Kingfisher as one of the Specials?

Rich,
Ditto! As the 2 Japanese choices are already very limited in terms of different markings, with the unsuccessful REX and the very late PAUL, I'm hoping that one of the specials will be either an RN FAA camouflaged or a silver 107Sqn RAAF Kingfisher.
Fingers crossed!

Those are cool! I think some carrier strike scenarios are brewing in my brain...

With seaplanes?? Maybe recon or pilot rescue. Maybe some shipping strikes.

Yes, with seaplanes. Before the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, US Navy carrier forces raided islands occupied by the Japanese in the Pacific. Off the top of my head, I can remember two carrier strikes that were intercepted by Japanese float planes.

It just seems kind of hard on the seaplanes.

Yeah...sort of. Japanese floatplanes where far more agile than their American counterparts, and were usually flown bravely and skillfully. Might be kind of fun if I can come up with a balanced scenario.
