 Well I know there has been some "bad press" on the Forum about Shapeways but I have just received 2 x FB5's & 2 Halberstadt D11's from Kampfligers shop in White Detail & they are just Perfect;)
No chalky or furry finish & the detail is very sharp.
The suprise was they all came in a foam box cut like a Hanger so the plane was snug in its packing & then in a Ziploc bag surrounded by strong bubble wrap in a large & strong cardboard box.
Perhaps this is why the Postage has increased ?
I had ordered these before the postage increase by the way.

Sounds as if they may be finally getting their act together in response to remarks made on this forum Barry.

Every package I have received from Shapeways has been a large, larger than purpose cardboard box. The planes were all in zipbags and wrapped in either styofoam or big bubble wrap. no hangers of any shape.

The small sections of foam are a godsend when you are temporarily out of 'Hangar space'! Agree with Barry, superb finish, not like the DH2s we ordered in WSF. Looking forward to getting them ready for action!

Just got my first order today. I ordered a Brisfit and a 0/400 and absolutely nothing wrong with them.

They certainly look fine Paul. How much were they, and how long did they take to deliver?

The pair came to 40 euros. As for delivery time they arrived the day before they said it would, and spent the next 3 days trying to travel the last 20 feet from next door. :erk:

do the planes come already together?

Depends how gentle your postman and Shapeways packers are :)

Yes, in almost all cases they're prebuilt. Just the propellor to attach except for a few with optional parts and one in kit form (which you'll see from the description).

Yep! You have to stick on engines or propellers but the basic 3 D shape is all together for a plug n play experience.

Kampflieger's original DVII came as a sprue where the top wing and struts needed putting on but the newer ones are ready to roll.

Thanks for the info Paul. That don't seem too bad a price to pay, and the next door did a quicker service than our local Parcel Farce do. You usually have to go and collect it yourself after leaving 48 hours from the time they put the slip through the door. In some cases they don't even bother with the slip and you just have to guess if it has arrived or not.

Overall I think the 0/400 works out at about £5 more expensive than the skytrex model, but you dont have to tear your hair out assembling the damned thing :brickwal:

This 0/400 is a real bad fastard.
