I am proud to announce the newest addition to the Aerodrome Accessories line of cockpits, the ACE Cockpit Series!

Pre-Order the Fokker D.VII (http://www.aerodromeaccessories.com/index.php/aides-accessories/cockpits/ace-cockpit-fokker-d-vii.html) between now and October 21st and save $5.00.

Assembly instructions are being finalized and will be post in this thread and on the product page once they are completed (this will be done before they ship). The full kit consist of 28 parts, but is quite easy to build. Glue is only required to hold the wheels on, but regular white or PVA glue can be used on any of the joints to "tighten" things up some.

The two sets of dials do require the use of two official altitude pegs. These pegs do not need to be altered and can easily be removed if need for a flight stand again. Also, anyone that purchases the D.VII now will receive two replacement pegs once I get those in (future ACE Cockpits will include those as part of the product).

Ace indeed Herr Oberst. Now that is what I'd call a DVII. I must say that I like your big bird! Wonder if anyone makes a pilot in that scale.
Well done that man for inventive genius.

Big bird indeed Rob. She has a wingspan of just under 14 inches! Alas there is no real scale that it was made to. It is a gaming piece, so the proportions are geared towards that. But as you can plainly see, she looks the part! I also can not claim the fame for designing it. That belongs to Steve (also designed the damage caddy and rotary cockpits), I only helped in refining the end product for better game functionality and table presence.

Looks like a awful lot of effort went into this project, but it seems too big and cumbersome for any of my gamers.

Yes, they do take up more room, but my group has used two of them over the past two gaming sessions and they like them quite a bit. We have lots of space, so it's not really and issue. I also doubt that everyone in a gaming group would have one, so again, size might not be that big of an issue.

There were several lines of thought behind these (yes, their our other planes in the works).

They are just plane fun!
You can paint them up to match your personal mini in the game!
They really grab peoples attention, which helps to pull new players in!
They are perfect for gaming conventions when more "eye candy" is always a good thing!

I just created a contest (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?6816-ACE-painting-contest) where you can win the next release in the ACE Cockpit series... the SPAD XIII!

Very nice but it would be too big for most of the games I play.

Awesome! I am impressed by the creativity, table presence, and functionality of the new design. I do have one question however: Are the card slots sized such that you can fit sleeved cards in them as well as the standard un-sleeved card? (i can't tell from the photos.) Thanks.

The Fantasy Flight sleeves will fit for sure. The card slots measure 48mm wide if anyone needs to check for other brands. The table presence is simply awesome! We had been running a Knights of the Air campaign for nearly 6 months, playing once a week. We got more people coming to check it out the night I bought these in then we did the 5.5 months before!

I almost did that plane Chris... If I would have had more time to devote to the paint job, I would have!
