What is your favorite miniature type to fly?

I like S.E.5a - it is not beautiful, but I like flying with it really much. And after that Camel - I like the right turn event if it is predictable.

The SPAD XIII, it is robust and fast.

The lack of manoeuvrability is compensated by the intensive use of Himmelmann and Split-S.

I like the SPAD...the speed is great. The lack of handling is well made up for by speed. :)

The Dreidecker. Although quite fragile, it's very nimble and climbs well. And no-one pays attention to the lack of speed when you can punch Allied machines so easily and fast. ;)

But you really have to play with altitude rules!

Albert Ball's Nieuport. Just because I can. It is a challenging machine wit only a B damage deck.

Pfalz D.III. An uderrated workhorse. Nice looking, sturdy, mediocre maneuverability. Simply an underdog.

I chose the DR1, as I really like the way she handles, however I also like the Spad. I dunno why but I find the Spad real good fun

Any of the Nieuports. If I'm playing with new comers I use the 23 with the B deck. They are both, 17 and 23, a challenge to fly.

Now I have the new Osprey Book "No 60 Squadron RFC." with a picture of RFC pilot P E M Le Gallais rocket armed Nieuport 16, I will be repainting one of my Rocket armed 16s as his plane. That may well become my favourite at least as far as Balloon missions go.

Albatros D.III because it was the long time workhorse of the Luftstreitkräfte.

Spad XIII for me, i love the fast style. I tend to avoid Immelmann's as much as poss and like to play a sweeping in and out style. Also makes my Immelmann's nicer when i do play them :)

Nieuport 17 is my favorite to fly. If only it had more HPs. Though technically... my favorite to fly is one that I had to build myself, the Siemens-Schuckert D.III, which really is something of an advanced Nieuport 17, when you think about it.

Love the 3 sharp rights on the Camel. The DVII is great but it is almost unfair to be flying that against some of the other types. In general I prefer the more maneuverable types over the fast ones.

I had to think about this a while. The D VII would be my favorite to fly if I were considering my chances for winning a game. And I really am fond of most of the planes in general (Camels, SPADS, Albatrosses and even the Rumplers are all very cool).

But I think my most favorite thing is to fly my 4 triplanes. They just look really good. There's just something about a tripe.

I dont own the mini (sad face), I love flying the DR1. When I started out playing WWI I knew nothing of its aircraft. I started out playing all the planes I could to see which one worked for me.
The DR1 is not the best but I have had outstanding luck flying it.
The low health has always been a concern. I can tell you when my campaign reaches the right year I plan on getting the DR1 into my squadron ASAP.

Anyone else have problems with the faster planes. The SE5 is so quick compared to many that getting them to sit behind other planes is almost impossible. Dr 1 is my favourite. Looks good and handles well!

I tend to use the stall more with the faster planes to keep them on song, or get them to climb one counter. At least that way they don't run up the back of the aircraft they are tailing.

That's a tough question - they are all fun to fly!

DVII if you want to pummel the enemy

DH2 because it looks so cool and is a bit of a challenge

The Bristol Scout may become my new favorite for the same reason - it's a challenge to get the enemy in your sights

Can't say I have a favourite model to play on a games night - I will just pick a kite at random depending on what my gaming friends have chosen in the hope of keeping the sides fairly even.

I have all of the WoW Ser 1-4 mini's except 1, and quite a few more from Skytrex so there is plenty to chose from.

I received my Reviresco order for two Fokker D.VII, but I still haven't time to built 'em, 'cos my wife and my daughter are at home almost all day long (I want summer holidays !!!!), so I'm still playing with SE.5a (if I play with entente) or Albatross D III (if I play with central empires).
Maybe when I'll have my DVII ready I'll change my mind...

I went for the SE5a since thats my favorite British plane though I also have a soft spot for the Camel.
If I`m playing on the German side however, I`m getting rather fond of the Seimens-Schuckert D.III.
Causes a lot of problems for people who insist on flying Snipe`s but its not even on the list!

I have a Hanriot that is apparently immune to damage. It's the camouflage paint. I've flown in 20-plane battles, taken as many as five damage cards and pulled all zeros. I joke that I carry my cappucino in an open cup when I fly because no one hits me.

Lovely plane. A personal favorite.

See... this is something in which I need to invest. Perhaps something with an option for fire-proofing... always seem to end up in flames. Brutal business, really. :)

Voted for the SE5a, as I've enjoyed flying one when I've had the chance... but I also like the two-seaters, especially the Halberstadt CL.II (though I've yet to fly the Hannover -- still sitting in the hangar).

Voted Albatros D.Va though one earned me the first Bullseye Award at Doncaster 2015!

In the same game and flying an identical type the Wife was the last Central Powers aircraft left standing so she will agree with this vote :)

Mine too. After all it has been specifically developed on the needs and tastes of us Italians. ;) A fireply, as an Italian ace defined it.

I voted for the SE5a. It has allways been my favorit kite but I am slowly turning toward anything flying with the F-deck. It's slower but the sharp turns aren't steep. So if there had been a HD1, N28 or a Fokker DVIII, I probably would have voted for that :)

Well who could disagree with that. ;)
But the Siemens-Schucket DIII is a close match. I've played many 3 on 3 between DVII and DIII and it is the higher hitpoint that give the DVII the victory. (and often with only 1 DVII flying home :) )
