Enjoy!

Excellent items! I like that you have both a Camel and a DR-I option. Looks like I'll have to order some of these to supplement the advanced cockpits when I have a larger group at the table.

Thanks guys. I like these when I'm not playing with all of the advanced house rules. They work great at Cons (I've used the prototypes at both Origins and Tacticon). They take up very little room on the table and make it super easy to pick up and move to the other side of the table if my plane ends up there for a while.

I will be releasing more of these with different planes on them. That way you can use a Rotary Cockpit to match the plane you are flying! The SE.5 and Albatros D.V will be up next in a month or so.

That is outstanding!

You've piqued my interest, Herr Oberst! Might have to look into a couple after my hunting trip.

What kind(s) of wood is that?

Nice, I saw those at Origins. Might need to add a few for my gaming table. Of course I ordered an Advanced Cockpit for myself.

Just got home, my Advanced Cockpit & Damage Deck Caddy were waiting for me!

These are cut from Baltic Birch.

Tommy, these have under gone quite a bit of "upgrading" since you flew with them at Origins ;)

:salute:I like the idea Herr Oberst. I was toying with something similar in plastic some time ago but just to put the movement cards on so that you could see them at a glance to choose your next move quickly. It stemmed from that thread about playing to time limited moves. I envisaged something rather like a Scrabble rack. So full marks to you sir. They are just what I need.:salute:

They look really nice.

I've done a first small order at the Aerodrome Accessories (some smoke-/flamemarkers and a ruler).:)

Those nice items are inspiring forfurther orders.

Herr Oberst,

As it is the 28th of September, any idea when these are shipping?

I expect to have them in hand in the next day or two. Then it's out to anyone that has per-ordered them.

So, with these cockpits, you would be allowed to look at the three maneuver cards you have chosen at any time is this correct? I thought the cards were supposed to be faced down? Then again, I haven't read the entire rulebook for WWI.

I might have to pick a couple of these up sometime soon..

They are only face down so that your opponent can't see them. There's no problem in a player seeing their own cards.

Only WWII has the optional rule of not looking at your own cards once you have selected them.

Wow, I really like those! The stupid movement boards have always taken up so much of the game area, and heaven help you if you tip one, sending cards and counters all over the place! Of course, these also have less horizontal surface area to have beverages spilled upon, which I'll tout as a good thing...

Is there a chance of a "generic" one with just a giant Aerodrome Accessories logo on the back instead of a specific plane?

I've not given any thought to a generic one before. One of the coolest things about these is the great artwork on them.

Just received both of mine (one of each) and they are outstanding! Very nice looking, easy to put together, and the artwork is topnotch.

Questions: Do most of you glue them together, or put them together each time you use them? Also, anybody stain/seal theirs?

Cheers!

Fixed mine together with plastic weld, although it was not strictly needed.

I do not glue either my Advanced and Rotary Cockpits together. All of my gaming is down at the LGS for the most part, so breaking them down and sticking them in the top of my Aerodrome bag works out great.

I did put a light stain on one of the prototypes, but it was almost not noticeable. A dark stain or even a cherry stain might look nice though!

Update:

You can now buy the different faceplates with the artwork on them separately to save you some cash!
