Haven't seen any printed ones of his anywhere, and I've no idea what scale they are.

I would like to know the scale of these to. Has anyone asked Shapeways what scale they are?

Not likely to buy any as I'm not impressed with the fact the gap between struts is filled in

I'm thinking they must be really small minis for the designer to have made the struts that way.

Inclined to agree re size and struts. Still need to know whats out there.
Could be good for mounting on trophies.

Might be good to make a mobile out of (you knoow hanging from the ceiling in the kids room all painted up on pretty colours!).
Linz, let us know the scale or size of them when you have the answer.

it is his answer:
"they are smaller, but I am now in the process of scaling them up to match, and redetailing them. Yes I will be adding more planes after this is done. A lot more planes!"

well wait and see

That's great news! Looking forward to seeing what he produces.

This is the reply I got.
"I made them smaller for a customer who wanted them at 1/220 or so - I am in the process of scaling them all up and redetailing them, so I will list them on my site as 1/144 scale. After that is done, I will be adding a bunch of new planes to the list, everything from bombers to early recon planes, etc. My goal is to eventually have up almost every plane that saw action in the war (at least, every plane that was produced in any great number)."
Hopefully when they are rescaled they might have better struts etc.

"I made them smaller for a customer who wanted them at 1/220 or so"Even for Z-gauge, that's not a great model. Comparable with the cheapest and least detailed 1/300. I would have guessed 1/600.

But until someone has actually experimented to find out what the possibilities are, what works and what doesn't, a conservative approach is probably best.
