:salute: G'day All!
Finally completed my Shapeways Sopwith Triplane from 1 Naval Squadron.
Had to trim the Rondels a little to fit the narrow wings but it came out OK.

Nice and inspiring! I have my trio of tripes painted up. I need to put on decals and make a prop disk for each of them. How did you attach the prop disk? I was going to cut off a straight pin and use it as the shaft for mine.

Howed you get the small motor in the thing, looks like the props spinning.

I love the look of that style of prop.

Nice Paintjob Barry! Is the smoother surface on yours due to some sanding on your part, or is it due to the choice of materials you went with when you ordered it from Shapeways?

 Yes thats the Go! Just make sure the pin is cut short as the hole on the engine goes all the way through to the Cockpit!

:salute: G'day Ken!
Its mainly due to the Frosted Ultra Detail finish. It only required a light file on the fuselarge sides, nothing else.
I just used a light undercoat of GW White spray then 2 coats top coat & finally matt varnish over the Decals & a Gloss on the Cowling.
I think it helps if the paint is thin & therefore does not look too rough.
Overall I was very pleased with the FUD finish.

Thanks Barry! My wallet says "OUCH!" but at least I will know what to order when the time comes, to get the best result! ;)

Nicely done Barry, I have also had a bit of an issue with roundals for my Tripes.
In the end I used the "Shed" decals system. which had some the correct size.
