Hi all

I've been chatting with David from Seriously Board in NZ and he mentioned he might be adding a WoW tournament to the Dominion and Settlers tournaments already planned.

For more info and to give feedback visit the thread at BGG or let me know and I'll pass it on:

I'm quite keen and will try and make it up although the timing (late October) isn't great for me.

I ran a few games at the the last event up here (last month) in Auckland. I did say that they should play more wings of war.....

May well organise a few Aucklanders to show you all what for!

Hi guys. David here from SeriouslyBoard.

Thanks to Ian for posting this, and I'm excited that there seems to be a bit of interest.

The idea was, if there were enough people interested in putting in $10 to $20, we could have the winner take a flight in a Boeing Stearman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_Stearman), but as Ian noted, this might not be ideal for out of towners. (And I don't know if it'd appeal for the locals, either - any ideas?)

The alternative, of course, is to just pay the entry fee and WoW to your heart's content with the free prize of bragging rights.

Whatever works best and is most popular is probably what we'll end up going with.

Hi David.

Chris here, The last event was excellent. Here's a photo of one of the games played. Unfortunately may of the others were too dark to use.

Hi Chris! Fantastic - I'm so glad you enjoyed the Auckland event.

We're hoping to make the Tauranga one bigger and better.

Might we see you and a few wingmen in October?

Hey all - is there much/any interest in this? I haven't yet heard back from the BOP WoW chapter.

I'm keen for us to go for New Zealand's largest dogfight free of charge with bragging rights as the prize.

How many people would be keen to come along, and how many planes, (probably single seaters to make it more simple), would they bring with them?

I am still working on whether or not I can make it as it is a long way to go and an awkward time but I am keen to. Bragging rights and fun is plenty of motivation, and if I did go I'd probably sign up for the other games as well.

I can bring 30 odd single seater minis with me plus damage decks and related things if needed.

I'm looking at flying up for it would be good if we could all get together for a few non virtual beers.
I'll bring my collection there's about 50 aircraft of all sorts of shapes and sizes not all with bases as yet.
Hopefully will see you all there.

That would be great if you were to make it, guys. If you're in touch with other pilots, be sure to encourage them to get along. I'm going to see if I can chase down a few Auckland flyers, too, so that pilots from around the country can see what the pilots from other regions have to offer. :)

I'm guessing the sortie would most likely happen on the Sunday, between the round-robin of Dominion and the knock out stage(s).

Hey guys - we're finally beginning to join the dots with regards to which events we'll be running within the BGBTB event as a whole, and we've got a question on our latest poll on our home page, (http://seriouslyboard.co.nz), asking how much people would be prepared to pay for a (non-WoW) tournament if the prize was flights and accommodation to the Australian Games Expo in Sydney.

If you're thinking about attending BGBTB, it'd be great to get a penny for your thoughts! :)

Hi guys
Bad news i'm afraid I will not be able to get up to Tauranga.
Have to be at the Otago Beauty Pageant on the evening of the 22nd. My business is sponsoring one of the contestants and as CEO I really have to attend.
I will be in Auckland weekend of November 12th may be able to catch up then.
Gutted at not being able to get there and hope you have a great time.

Hi all - just a reminder that Board Games ByThe Bay is now just a week and a half away! We'll have a games library, spot prizes, games for sale, a Settlers Of Catan tournament, and of course a giant game of Wings Of War, assuming we can convince enough people to gather round for a huge sortie! ;)

We'd love to see you there, so make sure you either turn up on the day, or register through the website for a discount! (And if you're planning to take part in the Catan tournament, you'll need to register by Thursday October 20th so we can organise the draw. :)

Hope to see you there! And in the meantime, happy gaming!

Kiwi_Ace is going to lead the tournament which will be open to all and free to enter on Sunday.
