When different aircraft with different speeds are flying in formation. Why can't the faster aircraft use the slower aircrafts movement cards? This is so that they stay in formation.
You would have to check that the slower movement cards correspond with similar cards in the faster aircrafts movement cards. ie if an aircraft at normal speed can not do a 90% turn then it can't do that turn at a slower speed.
What do you guys think.

My guess is that the slowest a/c plots movement and then hand the card around to the others.
Or the slowest or "escortee" hands the Flight Leader their entire deck, and the FL plots all moves and then hands around the flipped card. Restrictions would be in play for rotary turns, extreme slips etc.
So, exactly what you said.

It will be interesting if the Flight Leader orders all to keep formation while the enemy closes... see who breaks formation first

It was a real problem when escorting other types of aircraft, or even one of your own with an engine problem. It is incredible how often members of a flight had trouble even before encountering the enemy. One of the Flight leaders main jobs was to shepherd his flock. A blip on the engine was often needed to allow the slowest to keep up. Straying from the patrol was also frequent, and the predatory enemy in the Sun was always ready to pounce on these strays.
I guess you have hit on a whole new area of spicing up a patrol here Linz. There are endless possibilities.
