On the shelf behind me are two books: _American Warplanes of WW2_, and _British Warplanes of WW2_.

Half the acft. in the British book are American-designed and -built.

How many British acft. appear in the American book? Three -- DH98 Mosquito; Supermarine Spitfire; Bristol Beaufighter.

America-centric? There Is A Reason For This. ;)

It still boggles my mind that we (the Americans) were supplying portions of three different armies. Hell, we were even giving stuff to the Soviets, and we didn't even get along!

Now the regular GIs got along fine. They both had a common enemy and I've heard several positive stories about there interaction.

A very interesting documentary, I do not care if it is Americanised, it was an airbattle I did not know about, rightly belive the Americans should be proud of the engagment!

The United States of America is a very proud country. Although with all this political correctness one would think we are all a bunch of pansies. We need to get back to our roots, but that's not a subject for here. I'm not apologizing for being proud, just stating a fact.

My statement wasnot about this particular episode. It's about the whole series "Dogfights". Usually it's american aircrafts against anything else. A pity as there where great dogfights without american aircrafts too (for example Battle of Britain).

You are exactly right. I wish they would produce some series with those planes and pilots as well as Russian, Germany, Italy, France and any others ones one could think of. I would love to hear their stories as well. Does the BBC have any shows like these out?

I saw a series on youtube about female Russian snipers and the interviews with the women as well. Nicely done.
