having seen the posts regarding biggest games in Italy, the USA and Denmark, I'm wondering what is the biggest WoW game to have been held so far in the UK?

I suppose that would be the Cardiff game held in January, unless someone else knows of abigger one. Think we had 24 people in that and at one time we had 20 aircraft flying I think

Pasteboard and plastic claimed a record some years ago with 21 pilots and 33 planes. What makes it bigger, pilots or planes?

Pilots is the standard for judging the number. Do you chaps think we could beat that?

Any tips on how to get people together though? I have a venue, prizes, planes, mats- but only 2 entrants so far.

Let's start by getting this posted on the Officers' club. Not all Brits read this sub forum. Also it will be available to visitors who may spread the news. If you contact our suppliers they may agree to mention the attempt at shows etc. That may be a starting point.

If you haven't done so already, cast your advertising net further than just this forum. The Miniatures Page runs daily news items so that would be a good place to start. Also the WOW_Nexus yahoo group. There are many WOW players out there who don't visit the Aerodrome (strange but true - poor deluded souls)

Thanks for the tips. The Miniatures Page is a no for me, I used to be on there but I hate the attitude of the majority of TMPers. I posted on the Nexus Yahoo group twice, it said my post would be checked but each time has failed to appear, I will try again. I have posted on other places too, I guess it's not a good time for a tournament so I'm tempted to run it as a number of linked scenarios instead, with prizes for success.

Well Marts as no one else has come up with anything yet I guess we will have to go along with what you deem to be the best option.
You still have Sheffield to look forward to.

Well if I was to contact the Reading club about putting on a WoW game at Reading later this year would people be interested?

David Manley

Almost certainly yes, I would. I attend Salute most years, and Warfare as well on a more irregular basis. Which one were you thinking of?
