was checking for some stuff about captured Sopwith Camels and found this.

That is pretty cool!

not bad. Haven't had a good look at it yet but so far it looks amazing.

I am going to order a Sopwith Camel and do a repaint on that captured one. Won't be able to do it for this round of the competition but maybe the next one.

I'm liking your thinking, my man!!

I've not gotten around to doing any enemy repaints yet, but that camel looks like a good place to start. I really should have a good look though the WOW aircraft cards for some insperation.

I was scanning through the Central Empire cards when I found the card for O. Kissenberth. So I can blame that card for me wanting to do a repaint on the Sopwith Camel.

The other plane would be the Nieuport 11 from Jasta 1 flown by G Leffers. [But will have to wait till they bring out the Nieuport 11.]

I may be able to help you out there mate. Have a look at this link. http://www.tin-soldier.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper.pl
There not WOW minis, but they are the right scale and can easly be converted to fit on the flying bases.

funny thing is I am a WoW mini supporter. So will stick with their minis. I've seen the other minis that the other players are collecting but *shrug* not me.

I am in no rush to get new planes [still trying to collect the minis they all ready have]...

I am waiting for the Stuka in DoW then I'll start buying those figs.

I know what you mean. I love the WOW stuff, especialy when you look at the quality of the mini's. But on the other hand, if you want different aircraft and you dont want to wait for a few years, they you've got to go for other options.

I've got a few of the metal mini's from Skytrex/Revieresco, and although the quality is good pretty good, I've got to admit, i think the WOW are better overall.

I've not brought any DOW planes yet. I spent ages collecting and painting loads of 1:144 scale WW2 aircraft for a WW2 campaign my mate and I were running, and I've just not got around to them yet. Not to sure I want to give up my 1:144 collection just yet as the DOW sets are still a bit limited for choice and I've got more than enough different planes to go around.

Guess I'm a bit like Kaufy, spent so long collecting and painting my 1:144 minis, I dont want to get a new range and resigne the old ones to an eturnity on the shelf!! :(

this is my first foray into WWI and aerial combat game.
I'll collect them as they come out. Really glad they didn't go down that random booster format like some money hungry companies do nowadays just to generate fast cash. imagine having XX qty of just one plane. good for repaints but annoying if you wanted to get a particular plane.

its hard enough to get the Red Baron imagine if it was random boosters you'd struggle to get him.

part of that same research site I found this. It is: FIGHTING THE FLYING CIRCUS
BY EDDIE RICKENBACKER. (http://www.richthofen.com/rickenbacker/)

This on-line edition of Eddie Rickenbacker's World War One memoirs dates from the original version published by Stokes in 1919. Captain Rickenbacker, originally from Ohio, was best known as one of the Commanders of the 94th "Hat-in-the-Ring" Squadron, a crack unit of pilots which included many former members of the famed Lafayette Escadrille. The 94th ended the war in France with the highest number of air victories of any American squadron. Captain Rickenbacker later belonged to an association of pilots and Great War air veterans who, in the years immediately following the Second World War, invited many of the new "young" aces from the Pacific and European theaters for informal lectures. These men never lost their keen interest in aviation.

might be a good read for you 94th players out there.
i enjoyed reading it.

Last year I re-painted a Camel to represent Otto Kissenberth's craft. I will try to take a photo and post it for everyone.
