It is my sad duty to report another allied defeat here in the Valley. Our patrol crossed the German lines at 19:00 hours and were immediately intercepted by two enemy aircraft, and LFG Roland and an Albatros, the latter flown by Lt. von Tolzen who had been presumed killed when her Triplane crash landed after combat a week ago.
The Albatros soon got on to the tail of Lt. Adam's Snipe while my Nemesis engaged my SE5a. We exchanged fire for several maneuvers while I tried to gain a position behind and below the 2 seater, which veered sharply away. The Snipe meanwhile had managed to shake off pursuit, only to find itself directly in the path of the Roland. Both pilots fired simultaneously and both aircraft exploded in mid air!
I fought a vicious, turning battle with the Albatros, but had already taken damage from the Roland's guns, so I headed for British lines; however in a mirror image of last weeks duel, I was unable to shake off the enemy machine and was shot down just one move short of reaching safety.
Another black day for the Allied cause:(
Just a really hot day, hm? :)
You have nice farms - they look great
Good Job. Love the simultaneous explosion!

Thanks! Actually my Nemesis came up with the idea - I wanted something better (and easier to see) than the WoW target card; these are just Monopoly game houses stuck on a piece of foam cut the same size as the cards.
They can serve as objectives (HQ's, barracks etc) for recon or bombing, or just eye candy as here. Being based like that it's easy to move them out of the way of aircraft if you need to.

Great AAR, this idea of using the MONOPOLY stuff for 'eye candy', etc, is simply brilliant! I have a bunch of MONOPOLY games that are missing stuff but have some of the houses and hotels. Great idea!

It should be possible to take a craft knife or saw to the hotels and make 'ruined' buildings closer to the front too....
I love the scenery you have. I have not played with 2 seaters yet, but are they that powerful? Roland + Albatros d.va VS. an SE5.A + Snipe does not seem like the most fair match up... (Granted, in the end its the pilot and not the machine).

Two seaters are not to be taken lightly, especially the two-gun Roland as it;s difficult to attack the small 'blind spot' in the front quarter - you are going to get hit 90% of the time. This is where altitude rules are important as the only safe way to deal with them is from behind and below. They can also soak up a lot of damage, sometimes more than the attacking scouts! This makes them very hard to knock down unless you get lucky with a special damage card.

I love the dynamic appeal of your dogfights, Stuart. The self made playmat is gorgeous. That "mutual" destruction in the end was a real bitter end. Not like in the movies!
Great to see Us Germans giving you Brits a plastering. Makes up for all the times I have been shot down.
Love the report and terrain
