:) At the Sapphire Coast Flights Games Night last Friday we organised a 6 person game to play a Bombing/Photo Scenario & had two new recruits join in the Fun.
The Allies were represented by Colbatman flying a Nieuport 23 & a Spad V11 in French Colours, Chris H flying Fonks Spad X111 & Jan Olislagers Camel plus new chum "Barsey" with a Snipe.
The evil Huns were led by Jasta 18 with August Raben himself in his Triplane, Bruno von Hinksmann in a Fok DV11 flown by gully_raker & a Pfalz D111a by newcomer Charles whilst another semi newcomer Phil B flew an Albatross DVa.
The "raker" also took control of the Bomber in the form of a Rumpler.

The mission had called for volunteers from the German Naval Wing based at Flanders to undertake a stealth mission at Dawn to bomb a newly located French Ammo Dump & check for Troop build up in the sector.
Ltn Otto von Kransky & Feldwebbel Fritz Strudel undertook the mission & were to rondevous with Rabens fighters as support before they crossed the lines.

As the Aircraft approached the lines they were met with a French N23 & a Spad V11 who tried to cut off the attack. The Dr1 & Pfalz imediately attacked to enable the Bomber to approach the Target.
In the meantime Bruno saw two more allied planes coming towards the area from the left hand side & immediately turned towards them.
Whilst the Bomber & 4 Aircraft were engaged in a spirited duel the Bomber flew on towards the Target. A quick exchange if fire saw a number of guns jammed on both sides of the fight no doubt caused by the cold at the high altitude.
The 2 French aircraft took the brunt of the shots & the Rumpler added its rear gun to the damage even as it lined up the Target. The bomber sucessfully dropped it load on the Target which exploded with a huge piller of Fire & Smoke which drew the attention of a Sopwith Snipe from the AFC & an Albatross from Jasta 6 which was on a solo scout.
As the Rumpler made a tight right hand bank & headed for home it took a burst of shots from the Spad V11 but fortunately only slight damage was incurred & the Rumpler made off whilst the melee was now joined by none other than Rene Fonk in his Spad X111 & Jan Olislargers the Belgian Ace in his Camel whilst the Snipe & Albatross also headed for the Dogfight.

Soon the French N23 was tumbling earthwood to crash in No Mans Land whilst Rabins Dr1 started to Smoke. Bruno weighed in with abandon ignoring the many shots in his direction to assist his commander. The Pfalz in the meantime was now attacking the Spad V11 with good effect.
Under fire from Fonk & Olislargers August Raben soon had to withdraw from the fight & try to crash land in German territory to avoid being killed. This he did but was out of the Fight. Bruno then turned his attention to the Snipe which was engaged in a running fight with the Albatross. Soon the Snipe was seen to spin out of the fight with heavy damage from both the Fok DV11 & Albatross & was seen to crash just before the German lines.
The Spad V11 also now was in trouble & crash landed just inside the French Lines whilst Bruno's Fok also caught fire but managed by clever flying to put the fire out without taking terminal damage.
Shortly after Fonk accounted for the Pfalz which spireled into the ground on the German side of the lines.
Meanwhile the Rumpler managed to land back at base with photos to show the damage caused by the successful mission.

Soon the only Aircraft remaining in the fight were the Olislargers Camel, Fonk & Bruno's DV11 as the Albatross had finally fallen victim to the guns of Fonk & Olislargers.
Seeing the Albatross crash Bruno flew his damaged aircraft straight at Olislargers & with a final burst shot the Camels engine which caused the Belgian Ace to spin away for a landing just inside the Allied lines.
At the same moment Fonk had manouvered on to Bruno's tail & with deadly aim hit the motor of the Fokker causing Bruno to make a semi controlled landing in German Lines with hundreds of bullet holes & a smoking engine.
As Bruno limped from the stricken Aircraft for safely Fonk did a Victory Roll & flew back to his Aerodrome for Lunch.

Hope you enjoyed that as much as all the players did. It was one hell of a Fun Game & I am sure we will have some new Pilots on board for the Col's World Wide Campaign.
Incidently Bruno's Fokker had acquired no less than 12 Zero damage cards during the Game as well as the 16 that knocked him out.
Victory went to the Germans by 6 points to 5.
Points were awarded as follows: 1 point for each Aircraft shot down, 1 Point for successful Bombing Mission & 1 point for Bomber Returning to Base.
The defenders would have scored 1 point for shooting bomber after mission & 2 points if stopped from mission & shot down.

Nice AAR and it sounds like a fun game! My group has to take a month off due to most of the pilots going on R&R :(

With respect: It's "turmoil". Otherwise, well-written.

Hey Barry, great fun reading your AAR. Thrilling! A real nail biter of a mission. Olieslagers' Camel is cool looking.

G'day Terry, glad you enjoyed it.
Jan O's Camel did not look so "flash" after Bruno finished shooting at it!:D
