View Full Version : Would you buy more flight pegs?

I am working on having extra flight pegs made up to offer through Aerodrome Accessories. These would be interchangeable with the official pegs, but would come in clear and blue tinted clear. The two colors would allow those that use the pegs to count altitude to alternate them for quick counting.

How different would they be?

Basically the same exact thing, only half would be the clear tinted blue.

Great idea Colonel. Also like the log books you have made up. Are you going to bring some out with you when you come in June?

I don't really need any more clear ones, but would like to get a bunch of the blue. Would they only come in half-and-half, or could we just get blue ones?

I'll bring some if you "local" guys want to buy some. I can't sell any at the Con to the general public though. However, I'm thinking about having some smaller ones made up especially for the Con to give out to the players of my games... once I work out the details of that, I'll let you other GM's in on it if you like.

I'm with Larry on this. I have enough clear ones. But to be able to purchase just the blue would be great!!! Sell both separate so pilots can choose.

I indicated I didn't use them (we don't play with altitude) but there is an issue with many of the pegs being too loose which is annoying so I could be tempted if these were a significant improvement in that area...

I would certainly like more flight pegs both for the reasons stated above and because some have been destroyed in attempts at modifications. I would also like dedicated sets for my kits so that I could take one of my storage boxes away to events without having to ensure that there were enough pegs in it first.
I would think that would account for in excess of 50 pegs at the present time.

I have plenty to be going on with, you don't tend to use all the minis at once so the same goes for stands. I do however like the idea of blue ones. Better still for me would be longer ones, stacked 3-4 high they're not so stable for the heaver models.

cheers,

Dave.

Definitely want some of these, for the non-official WoW aircraft that I have. Two colours for altitude separation is sensible.

Yes please :D

Probably. I've lost a few to modifications and rampaging pets over the years. Also pretty useful for those of us who have a bunch of non-WoW models and otherwise need to borrow pegs from the official ones to use them.

Col. I have to say that the idea of using clear blue pegs is really genius. I have so many minis now that I never run short of pegs, but I could be tempted to buy some of the blue pegs since that would be a nice addition.

Great idea

Awesome idea about the blue pegs!

Yes. Clear blue is better than my idea of painting half the pegs black.

Hmmm...I don't (and I think that I've said this in another thread) need more pegs, but those blue ones - You've a fiendish way, my dear Col., of adding that little extra that I just can't refuse.

I put down "Yes, less than 25", but I honestly don't know and feel a bit bad about this since you're trying to calculate demand. Could I just donate, say a tenner, towards development cost - And then just decide later if I simply must have those blue pegs when and if you decide to produce them?

I can't take credit for the blue pegs guys. The one of the OR groups on here has made them in the past.

Oberst Hajj

Humm, looking at the response to the blue pegs, maybe I should look into only producing those. That would cut down on some of the cost as I'd only have to have about 5,000 laying around for you guys to buy up instead of 10,000.

Packs of how many Boss? - I could use 10 right now this instant just to have a full set for the F Toys and replace the ones I've chopped or busted. packs of 10 or even 20 wouldn't be over large.

Noooo! Col. I only want clear ones. With the dial up you don't need to count pegs at all.

I'll have to work out how many will be in a pack based on the cost per unit times quantity I have to order. My initial thoughts are to do packs of 25.

No worries there Rob, I have to do some clear ones as well. I am going to have pegs made up to go with my bases, so no more chopping them up to make them work.

Thanks Col. I think I will need about four packs to kick off with.

Four packs for me too

And 4 packs of each colour to Denmark as well, along with your measurement rulers, some bases and more of those nice gimble sets.
Now for those WWII hangers and you're almost done :)

I was going to order 2 packs of blue pegs, but everybody else is saying 4, so I feel like I have to jump off the cliff too (I succumb to peer pressure way too easily).

Niclas
04-19-2011, 14:22
I guess I'll just have too succumb too, but not so much to peer pressure as my own dark desires - Put me dow for 2 packs of blue pegs.

Now I don't have the flight stands yet, but I have the feeling that (apart from the fact that they look good) I'd mostly use the climb dial - as I suspect pegs for altitude would still be a useful extra visual aid.

Please, Sir, may I have some more? I will order at least 4 packs of blue and a couple replacement packs of clear ones.

Forgot an option there, Boss: "Yes, quantity uncertain".

Oberst Hajj
04-23-2011, 00:08
Maybe, but that option would not help me calculate possible quantities needed.

When will they be out for sell?

Oberst Hajj
04-23-2011, 05:35
Not for a while. I've not actually green lighted the project just yet. I hope to have the prototypes some time next week or the week after. Then it is a matter of finding out what the die costs will be and then what the cost and minimal quantities I have to have them made in will be.
