Across the Blood Red Skies. Author:
Robert Radcliffe ISBN:
978=0-349-12226-7 Category:
Fiction Format:
Paperback Summary:
If you want a good adventure story set in the First World War about the lives of a pair of pilots, which is less "Boys' own" than Biggles, then this is the book for you. It has its dark moments as indeed any book set in the War to end all Wars must have, but it is less dark than Derek Robinson.
You will recognize many of the exploits as coming from the lives of real aviators, but the story line interacts well with these events right up to the final expose,....... but that would spoil the tale!
Well worth the £7.99 I paid for it.

Rob,

Thank you...Biggles did not generally appeal to me...this one might though.

I've been thinking about reading some fictional books about WW1 aero combat but there are so many historical accounts to read first. Thank you for your review.
