This is definitely going to be THE reference work concerning the Belgian Aviation Militaire in world war one: not only does the author tell the history of the Belgian Air Weapon from it's earliest begining but we also get the biographies of 375 pilots and airmen,a day by day report of the Belgian Air Service in combat undertaken by every escadrille including weather reports, missions, casualties and victories illustrate the general progress of hostilities and prove this to be a thouroughly researched and historical complete work.
Extensively illustrated with around 1000 pictures and 81 colour profiles from the hand of Jim Miller this book is a I real "must have" for everyone who is interested in the Belgian aviation of world war one and a very complete and comprehensive volume that sets an example in its genre.

The author , Walter Pieters, wrote his "magnum opus" with this one.

The beautiful lay-out and luxurious edition make this a rather expensive book but it is worth every single cent

This looks like a really good book! It will get put on the list of the ones I want, but cost will most likely move it pretty far down :(

As soon as I figure out how I'll add a picture of the cover and perhaps a couple of the pages...

There are some sample pages, including a couple full of profiles, on the publishers' website:

Sadly out of my budget at the moment, as it'll probably be £80 or so getting a copy here in Blighty, but maybe one day....

Hmmm...a little pricey, but a nice niche addition to a library...thank you.

Worth every penny, eurocent, zloty, etc! Good detail on the formation and organization of the AMB, then a comprehensive chronological description of their actions. Lots of photos and some beautifully rendered colour profiles to finish.
