Just a note to start the ball rolling for a WoW tournament on 17th July in Sheffield. The Venue is the Workstation opposite the old National Centre for Pop Music. Exact times to be announced and tournament details to follow.
If you can make it post here or send me a PM.
There will be a WoW repaint award as part of the tournament and painting competition.

You are officially pencilled in Dave, I've added you to the roster and as new info and tournament details come in I'll keep you posted. Shame you are busy Rob, never mind. I'll post photos and details on the aerodrome as they happen.

Thanks Chris, and no worries Don, Zummerzet is a tad distant!
I'll be finalising the venue details this week, I've looked at 2 or 3 different tournament set ups and I've managed to procure gaming mats and prizes (including a unique professional repaint that looks fantastic). I'll be offering a prize of a repainted Albatros DV myself, painted to a really high standard. If anyone has any preferences on colour scheme post here, there are some nice ones in the Colonel's files, or post a pic yourself. There are other prizes besides. I'm really looking froward to it now, I was putting the finishing touches to the intro pack and it put me in a dogfighting mood!

Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a while but I'm back now. A baby just joined the family and barged in on my hobby time! Can anyone else who is definitely interested please post here before the end of May, I need to know numbers so I can get organised, write scenarios, acquire prizes etc. As far as I can see we have Boney 10 as the only definite. If that's the case I'll post him the prizes now!!!

The tournament is to be held at Sheffield IMP show, a new event based in Sheffield City Centre. Patriot games, Baccus 6mm and other traders will be there plus a number of demo games, participation stands and painting competition. There will be a website up and running very soon, I'll post a link this week. It's in Sheffield Centre too, so disinterested family members can go shopping while you indulge!

Danrit

http://www.impevent.co.uk is the event website, Wings of War Sheffield Tournament 2011 Facebook page is now open for discussion and clarifications, I'll be posting tournament details here, on the Nexus Yahoo group and on the Facebook page so I hope that covers a few avenues of communication at least. If numbers are low I will run the day as a number of linked scenarios with victory conditions. If numbers are high it will be a traditional tournament.
If you have anything in particular you would like to see at the tournament or have any suggestions then feel free to contact me at martinrw73@hotmail.com. I'll be back with details ASAP. Thanks!

Never mind Richard. If this year is a success it will be an annual thing.

It's a little bit quiet, but quite a nice venue.

I have had one demo game so far with a lot of interest in the planes, Richthofen's boys have it over the RFC!

This could be a good "annual" for us northerner's with a bit of effort...

....hmmmmm :hmm:

Just been beaten three times on the bounce by a rather young gentleman

I swear these British Officers are getting younger by the day...

And the gall of the fella, handing me the explosion card....

The Black Knight's run of misfortune continues with two more downings, both at the hands of Danrit

All in all not a bad day. Interested a few more in the game and I think we can do a decent sized game for next year. Cheers to Danrit for highlighting this new venue!

Good news you got a couple of games. I will definately be up and available for next year, even if no tourney.

I must say the Black Knight was a trifle unfortunate with the Damage cards! He isn't that bad! I really enjoyed the event and it was great to meet up with Simon. Plans are afoot for next year...
