View Full Version : How to submit a book review

To submit a book review, you must use the form at the top of this forum. All fields in the form are required, so you may have to look up some of the information (like ISBN). Please keep all your entries as accurate as possible and make your summary as good as you can. A summary of " I liked this book" is not very helpful to other members. Adding image attachments of the book (at least the front cover) is very helpful as well. Most of the required info can be found on Amazon in just a few minutes.

Finally, after you submit a review, please refresh the page and open the thread that you just created with the form and use the "Rate This Thread" system (upper right) to give it a 1-5 star rating.

If you have the book that someone else has already reviewed, please use the star rating as mentioned above. This will build a solid rating that others can uses to determine if they should get that book. Feel free to also post a reply and give your own review/summary.

Ahh, okay. It does not show up on the Merry Christmas of the Soaring 4 Backup styles. If you switch back to the normal Soaring 4 style (very bottom left of any page), you should be able to see it.

That got it Herr Oberst.

To actually get back to Soaring 4 I had to click on Christmas first as if I were choosing that again. then click on Soaring 4 and the snowflakes should vanish like snow in Summer.

I am. It shows Soaring 4. Dark red background plus snowflakes. But never mind, Herr Oberst. I'll check it out after Xmas season:) Don't wanna bother you:)

ObH,
As the library is expanding, to make book references easier to find for browsers ('wetware' rather than internet search engines) and avoid doubling-up, is there any chance the thread listings on the Book Review Forum could be changed to alphabetical rather than chronological? I notice we already have a duplicate entry for 'Austro-Hungarian Army Aircraft of World War One' and at present there are only 2 and a bit pages of threads.

Thanks for pointing that out Baldrick. After my essay into the regions of Austro- Hungarian aircraft production I was contemplating writing a review on that as well.

That's a good idea... done! Keep in mind that now new reviews could very well end up on the 2nd or 7th page as soon as they are posted.

Thanks, I've taken care of the doubles you pointed out.

Please make sure you're not duplicating threads that are already posted. The categories used within the overall library are 'General', 'WGF' for WW1 and early inter-war (RCW) and 'WGS' for WW2 and late inter-war (SCW). Within those categories, individual titles are listed alphabetically; the only exception being a title which starts with 'the', in which case the listing is under the first noun or adjective (eg, 'The Red Baron' would be under 'R' rather than 'T').

I want to submit a review, but I can't find the form.
The only thin at the top of the forum for me is a box that says:

"Niclas, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

Help!

Now I see the form and think I've managed to submit my little review.

The tread is created automatically when you submit the form. I see your "The Giant Airships" thread listed.

Are graphic novels allowed?

There's one in there already, so I guess the answer is 'yes'.

I wish those were in english :(

Well the series of "The Nightowl" is translated in English but I have no clue about availability. The series of Edelweiss is already translated in Dutch. Both series are from the same scenarist and drawer so If you're lucky...

It are really really nice graphic novels. My review of "The nightowl" will be posted asap.

Just click on post new thread in the sub-forum and the form comes up Bob, when you submit it the thread is created.
We currently have no librarian to manage this so ensure you're not submitting a duplicate, if you haven't already. :)
