We thought we'd extend the dining table to it's fullest extent fot this one - The Germans had brought up a long range artillery piece with which to harrass troops massing in the allied rear.

From the muzzle flashes the allies knew roughly where it was - but locating it exactly (from five possible locations) was a job for the RFC.

Hostilities opened with Rahn going head to head with the SPAD as he tried to sneak into the DH4s blind spot.

But the Four was just too quick.

And the allied fighters were on him in a flash.

Udet and Weber left Rahn to it for the moment - waiting to pounce

While Camel and SPAD almost took each other out. Algys Camel dicing with the edge of the table was too close for comfort too.

Hopefully the beautiful photo of the SPAD included the actual target in the background!
Weber manages to close on the Four while Udet tangles with the fighters. The DH4 trails smoke but flames burst from the DVa and it explodes seconds later.

Udet damages the SPAD and forces a retreat - diving away for the lines.

But the Dr1 gets shot to bits in another incautious head on pass by the Flaming Coffin.
and plunges earthward.

Udet makes a break for it outnumbered 2:1 and the allies make sure of their target before going to get the plates developed and an air raid organised.
