I got this from another site I'm on, but thought lots of you might be interested in them...

Make those double ones pilot hits really stand out! These custom made 16 mm six-sided dice have the 'one' pip replaced with a roundel. French, British, and Italian roundels will be available in this special order, each one hand colored. The cost is $1.00 per die with a $4.00 shipping and handling charge per online order. Please combine your British, French, and Italian dice in one online order. Those who are able to attend the Minnesota Mini-Con will receive the dice there -- all other orders will be shipped by regular mail in mid-November. All profits after production and shipping costs will go to the Fight in the Skies Society.

For more info, visit the Dawn Patrol site. (http://dawnpatrol.org/)

Look interesting. What would be the purpose? Is there a use in WoW?

They look like they were modified by hand. It appears a ring was etched around the "one" of the die and then hand painted. If that is the case, I wonder how they roll and if they are vegas legal. :D

I don't think they were made by hand, but I'm sure they just added the ring around the 1 pip. There is not direct use for Wings of War, but thought you guys might be interested none the less.

By"hand" I guess I meant modified from an existing die. Thye do look neat. I checke the link. If Dawn Patrol is what I think it is I use to own a copy about 25 years ago. Never really took off though...pun intened.;)

Hello,

My name is John Harris and I am coordinating the custom dice order for the Flight in the Skies Society. I would be glad to answer any questions that I can.

The dice are manufactured by Chessex Dice and I will be hand coloring the center pip.

They are as legal in Vegas as any die you personally bring into a casino:)

Dawn Patrol / Fight in the Skies was first produced in 1965 by Mike Carr. It has been through 7 Editions including a number of them by TSR and the Eighth is currently being put together. It is the only game that has been identified to have been played at every GenCon. It was probably at it's highest popularity during the 80's.

I have only demoed Wings of War and that was a few years ago so I don't know if the dice will work directly with the game.

Let me know if you have any other question.

John

I hate to admit this but our group does use dice to deturmine where our combats take place (we don't use a campaign system) if our scenario does not specify its location. We also roll dice to deturmine if mid air collisions occure, the survival of pilots after a crash, and addition of random ground elements to the combat area. We are gamers and gotta have our dice fix. These dice would be great for the theme of the game. My German players are going to beg for crosses.
