Does anyone know much about the 'Black Cross/Blue Sky' game. I saw an advertisement for it yesterday and had a look at the website www.BlueSkyGameworks.com . It seems to be played on a hexagonal grid and can use different sized miniatures but it looks expensive.

Yep...looks nice. Pricey and maybe a bit "complicated"?

Not worth a tenth of that price. I had two of their other rules, Red Sun, and White Star. Got rid of them fairly quickly, designed for 1/300th scale miniatures. Lots of issues, incompatability between books, each is a slightly different scale. Just stay away!

Thanks Henry, I thought it might be like Memoir '44.

Actually I have all of the old books, and find them an enjoyable game; the big boxed set approach this time round leaves me cold though - far too expensive, and most of what you're paying for (maps, counters, stands....) would no use to me at all - just a rulebook would've been a goer, but not the way he's done it.
