Hi Folks,

As my wife is Finnish, I've always been interested in the Winter War and related conflicts from World War II.

So, as a fun exercise, I'm positing the air conflict forward in time to create some modern-day scenarios.

The initial "spark" to set the conflict afire seems fairly easy to achieve.

Russia always enjoys "buzzing" US and NATO reconnaissance aircraft, so imagining a Russian intercept of a P-8A that escalates into shooting between Russian and Finnish aircraft - responding to assist a P-8A that was damaged in a collision from a "buzz gone bad" - is not too challenging.

That would involve Finnish F/A-18Cs and Russian Su-27s of MIG-29s.

Thoughts?

Sounds interesting. Do you have a set of rules you would use for jet combat ?

I'm considering Check Your Six or home brewing some WoG-style stuff.

IIRC, someone has already done something along those lines, but I haven't looked for it for ages...

I did see that CY6 has jet rules as does Aerodrome rules. The Aerodrome uses a hex movement system so a little different.

Cy6 is a pretty good system but I am not a fan of hexes.
