Interesting to see just how many of the phrases have altered in meaning, but even more interesting to see how many are still in use nearly a hundred years later.

Its a good read! Thanks for sharing!

Though I miss one pretty typical german ww1 term: Nullachtfünfzehn (08/15). Which derives from the machine gun of that type. It stands for average, unspectacular standard. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/08/15_(Redewendung)
