Inaugural meeting -

October 1918: a Fokker D.VII and Hannover CL.II take on a Sopwith Snipe and a Bristol F2b.
Not a good day for the RAF, though the Hannover succumbed to fire damage just as the Snipe went down.

Afterwards, a quick learning game of BSG:SB (advanced, with altitude). Rolling double 6s can be deadly to opponents, 18 pts of damage (5+ 5+, 5+ 3).

One of three games played this Sunday in an impromptu meeting.

263698

First was an early war scenario, Fokker E.III, Albatros C.III and Albatros D.Ii, vs a Morane N and Nieuport 17 - which were replaced by a DH2 and Nieuport 11 as they got downed.

Then two late war games, Fokker D.VII, SSW D.III and Rumpler C.IV vs RE8, Snipe and Camel.

Thanks for the update on your games Zoe.
Always good to see what you are doing.
That mat was rather spectacular.

Is that your blanket print, Zoe?

Yes, quite a few years old now, but showing no signs of wear.

There might just be something even more spectacular coming my way in a few months. Something worthy of a world tour.

These days, try https://www.bagsoflove.com/blankets - cost has decreased, and quality just as good or better. I ordered some smaller ones for BSG with NASA wallpapers as designs.

Jpeg I used is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/klvqs1x739wikkc/wings%20of%20war%20%5Bwestern%20Europe%5D.jpg?dl=0

Next game will be on the last Sunday of May, with luck.

I say "with luck" as I'm under Doctor's orders to convalesce for two months after a bout of pneumonia in both lungs, I still have a week of complete bed rest to go before that period starts.

And Andrew got hit by a car last night while on his after school job as a Domino's pizza delivery rider. Fortunately no serious injury, he phoned us from the ER. But rather sore. I'm just thankful it wasn't a whole lot worse. Every parent's nightmare.

 Things have not been going well for you & family lately Zoe.
Glad you are on the recovery road & extremely happy to learn that Andrew suffered no serious damage!

Good to hear of you and your exploits Zoe. I was wondering what you might be up to. Watch that pneumonia it's at the core of my lungs as well. One needs to keep it in its dungeon best unwoken. Hope young Andrew heals well too. Nice to see the game is still afoot there, here we are trying to keep it in the local gamers memory, too many other more shiny toys to compete with. Our local shop is all about BSG which is good, but my days are other occupied with archiving between bone and joint treatments. Carry on, if you ever need anything from the crazy states let me know! Cheers, as the elves keep saying! Clipper

I was saddened to hear of your misfortunes, Zoe. Take care over that pneumonia. I had a bought a few years ago and it was not pleasant. I am glad that your son Andrew was not seriously hurt in the road accident. You must have been very worried at the time.

You rest easy Zoe with that double pneumonia and get well quickly (that's what prevented my emigration to Australia when I was in my late teens :( ) - all the best to you and also to Andrew :)

Hope you are resting Zoe. That is the best recuperation advice I can give. The more rest you get the quicker you get better. I had it when I was 35 and that lasted eight weeks before the Dr. let me out of the house. first time out I made it all the way to the post box at the bottom of the street and back. Just!
