From the official BSG Starship Battles Facebook group, for those of you not on it...

"Something BIG is shaping up... for the moment on the screen of our 3d engineer, soon to be prototyped to test it on the gaming table..."

Mind you, I am not on Facebook, I'm only sharing what someone posted over at BGG.

I hope that add some turret detail. Oh man detailing on that would be awesome.

Hmmm... I'm not convinced that it will be worth putting on the table. It isn't even the size of a tanker support boat. You couldn't fly even one Viper into that landing bay, let alone a squadron.

This from the guy with a 1/200 scale representation of the HMS Glorious, a British WWII aircraft carrier.

I don't think my wallet is in any danger.

How big is it, please?

I already have a few epic/huge ships for Star Wars: X-Wing. I'd love to get this to the table. Even as a fixed asset.

Someone rocked up to the Salute convention with this a couple of years back. I think this is more the size we want please, Mr Ares :D

Much too small.

All we need is a landing bay - admittedly, a 12 foot landing bay, but still..............................

For the economy minded .... that thing could double as a casket. ;)

The Battlestar looks great but I am worried that we would need a huge table area to play with this "mini". Add a Baseship into the mix and the table will get really crowded.

Any idea what table size we would need?

The HMS Glorious, at full 1/200 scale was 119cm/47" long. I use a 60"x60" piece of cloth as a play mat. It didn't really give a lot of room to use it, and the AA guns could reach almost all the way to the edge of the enemy side. Hell on the approaching bombers moving at slow (loaded) speed.

This Galactica looks fantastic, I'm definitely going to be buying all of these larger ships when they're released, maybe even multiples of some. I hope they do a number of different classes, at least 5 or 6 for the Colonials and 3 or 4 for the Cylons. They should be able to be used in the rule set they are designed for, but also other rule sets where you can use much smaller Vipers and Raider etc.

I dearly hope they keep all these capital ships in-scale with each other...

The only reasonable representation of the BSG75 on a gaming table would be a printed gaming mat with it's image.
I did it with a true to 1:200 scale Zeppelin with a big help of Sue (Eric's lovely wife) and it works really well. The image is 3D looking!

I reckon if a full range of capital ships were made, they would sell like hotcakes...between those who use them with the official Ares Games rule set, those who would use them for other spaceship battle games with appropriately scaled fighters, and those that would buy just to collect as fans of the show or just spaceships in general...these ships would be on a constant "Sold Out/Awaiting Re-stock" status...
