Theme: Airplanes of minor Axis countriesat WW2 - Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Hungary, Manchukuo, Romania, Slovakia, Vichy France, Thailand etc. (original Axis excluded).
Period: 1939-45

Scale: 1:200
Notes:
Repaint must be produced from 25th April 2017 to 20th April 2018.
No publishing in the painting showcase before 20th April 2018.
No non-historical schemes. Planes should be painted in actual historical schemes or at least in schemes very closely based on historical schemes for the plane in question.
Planes should be presented on appropriate base with four pegs, provided by painter (= no dioramas).
If plane is presented with it's own airplane card, this will be used as tie-breaker in case of two or more minies with same score.

It is, because fall of MvR. Anyway, you will be probably dissapointed from Air Museum in Kbely. When I see MiGs under sky with terrible colours after years of raining, I want cry.

Well, I wasn't disappointed last time I was there about 8 years ago although agreed, leaving aircraft out in Eastern European winters doesn't do much for the paintwork. Will have to think about a Prague Con -> fly to Poland (Warsaw/Cracow), do museums -> fly back to Prague option.
It could be a plan. Many people also like Wroclaw :)

No word about the Warsaw detachement, however. Hope they will be ready for action as well.

Andrzej, The way I would need to do this is go to Prague Con first, then 'kill time' before the Kbely museum opens by going to Poland, then back to Prague for Kbely. A lot of effort so possibly I might scrap the idea of doing Kbely altogether and go to Poland later in the year anyway. I definitely want to see what they have done to the Cracow museum since I was last there.
The other fly in the ointment is that Salute is the weekend before and I'll either be tied up with the WoG game or my club's game, so I do not know yet if I am allowed to enjoy myself two weekends in a row :lol:

Having stated that I won't be going next year, I realised that I hadn't consulted with management first. After a 3 hour 'consultation' :ssmack: on the way back from Doncaster it appears that I have changed my mind......

Arrive Thursday 19th at 18.15 hours so with luck should be at the Hotel about 20.30 hours.
Departure flight at 20.40 hours on Sunday 22nd so Taxi booked for 17.40 hours.
Really looking forward to my second Prague Con!

Are the previously presented/showed repaints allowed or the entries must be the "fresh" and not previously presented/showed ones?
I tend to recommend we allow only new repaints, made just for the Prague Con 2018 Contest.

Since the Fall here is set for good and the good old painting weekends are on the horizon, I would like to refresh the above Rules of Engagement, uuups, Contest with a following question:
Are the previously presented/showed repaints allowed or the entries must be the "fresh" and not previously presented/showed ones?
I tend to recommend we allow only new repaints, made just for the Prague Con 2018 Contest.

I added it into the post #1 in this way:
Repaint must be produced from 25th April 2017 to 20th April 2018.

The easiest way how to get there it catch a traing 8:00 from Prague (10:55 there). Back in 19:07 with changing in České Budějovice (famous from Good Soldier Švejk novel), will be in Prague 22:27.

We have no special price for the Con. We tried it two yaers ago, but it was too complicated with not big benefit. Book the room with the bookingcom.
Friday starts at 4:30 PM.
Sunday ends at 12:30 at the earliest. After lunch there is Try a new game block for those who leaves later.

Aircraft primed and first coat on underside painted on to-night. Now for the second coat and possibly, tomorrow, the first top side colour. Decals bought and paid for and sitting on the side awaiting their turn. Should be ready in plenty of time as long as it doesn't go like last year's attempt. Started really early last year on the B29 and ran into all sorts of problems not least of which was trying to duplicate the nose art. Also had a last minute disaster when I dropped the finished model breaking off the custom made peg. So there I was with two days to go making a new peg and doing local paint repairs to hide the re-work. Got to be easier this year, surely?

Zirndorf Wing will stay in the Eden Hotel (Vladivostocká 1540) not far away from the Hotel Mars and the gaming location(s).
Unfortunately Mars was fully booked a month ago and we're a little bit late this year. :hmm:
Beside this, the Summer Con weekend seems to be a busy one for the whole city. :confused:
Serbian Squadron will closely spy on Zirndorf Wing. Five of us will stay at Eden Hotel, too (at least our travel agency says so) :)

@Sven and Nemanja: I suggest you tried different hotel operators. Booking.com showed Mars unavailable, but I have found roomdi.com that still had double rooms available with breakfast priced at 106 Euro.

A short note, Thomas: try different hotel operators. I tried roomdi and they had rooms available, while booking showed "fully booked", which was not true.
In front of Mars Hotel there is a large parking area; Prague is a difficult place to park a car, however.
Czech colleagues will surely help you further.

OK, it is the time to explain what happend during last quarter of year.
There is a group of people who organize a big PragueCon 2018 convention (http://www.praguecon.com/partners) for aprox. 70 000 visitors. They registered trademark for words "Prague"+"Con" used together last April and pushed us to discard our name because Google finds it on top positions. Their CEO was not open to discussion (and to be honest, me neither) and it looked that we should do what they want. Kubajs had a meeting with their lawyer yesterday and not it seems that they can not ask us about this because they must respect users of trademarked words who used them before their registration. The only sacrifice is my idea to slowly move the name from "Prague Summer Con" to "Prague Con" (because April date), but this is something that we can live with really easy :)
They are on the move now and we will see if they will offer us something interesting that could bring something positive into our event or if they will realize that we are 1000× smaller then their estimation and let us go. Anyway, please clap to Kubajs and his diplomatic skill :hatsoff:

The only sacrifice is my idea to slowly move the name from "Prague Summer Con" to "Prague Con" (because April date), but this is something that we can live with really easy :)
They are on the move now and we will see if they will offer us something interesting that could bring something positive into our event or if they will realize that we are 1000× smaller then their estimation and let us go. Anyway, please clap to Kubajs and his diplomatic skill :hatsoff:

I see a little problem at Friday, because I planed to support Nemanja's Beograd mission with Stukas, a Serbian Messerschmitt and German pilots (me included). :surrender:
Could it be an option to replace this Friday "SoG Sven" with a "WGF - someone else"? :thankyou:
So the first Saturday MvR mission is mine. Great. :)
Do I get informations, what plane types are allowed and what victory points/campaign rules I should use? :confused:
The core mission parameters are fixed, but I need to know if it's early war or late war and what planes I'm allowed to use.

I believe that Daniel, but I was envolved in the Beograd mission's planing and confirmed Nemanja planes & participation. :)
Beside this I missed Nemanja's mission(s) last year Camel's vs Dr.Is (and year before - Winter War 1939). :surrender:
Same goes for Zedenek's mission(s) so I want to be part of the Dutch colonies mission at Sunday, too.
Hope this causes not too much trouble in planing... :dazed:

On a slightly different topic, I’ve booked me a train to Dresden (about 2 hours) as the Bundeswehr Military History Museum has been on my bucket list for some time.
My uncle said Dresden looked lovely, all lit up at night. Mind you, that was 1945 and he didn’t hang around too long.........
You will be a bit disappointed (from the Museum at least ), but the city looks better than Coventry, anyway !
