6 ° Torneo Città di Massa - 4 Trophy Warzone.

On Sunday 12 December 2010, at the store Warzone in Massa, there was the usual ludic event dedicated to the epic air battles of WWI valid for the 6th tournament City of Massa - 4th Warzone trophy, this time organized by the Gruppo Wargame Storico Massa.
The formula of the five scenarios, some of the new rules that made the games are always different and exciting and use of quotas make it become a tournament "for experts: make an appointment calendar!
The tournament was held over 5 rounds with 12 participants from La Spezia, Florence, Pistoia, Genova, Pietrasanta (LU), Carrara and Massa.
As previously announced, took place between the participants an extraction of four unique models masterfully designed and painted by Andrea Perfetti and Maurizio Galleni: planes were immediately tested by the lucky extracts.
We start the morning with the great classic duel between the Central Powers and the Allies: on one hand Albatros, Fokker DRI and DVII against a mix of Spad XIII and Sopwith Snipe. The intense battle ends with a substantial tie between the two factions in the camp, but can, however, to draw up a first ranking among the various contenders.
The second scenario consists of a solo mission to see every driver involved to shoot down an observation balloon within 15 minutes before direct opponent who tries to do the same in the next table.
In the third game is played a duel between two players with two air-to-head: now best aces enter in game, each with a different ability that have made the fight exciting and fun: "I have perfect aim," "I'm good at dodging" or "I'm a stunt pilot" are among the most frequent statements that could be heard in the various tables.
The fourth scenario, " photo-patrol ", was perhaps decisive for the final and also the most "bloody" (8 aicrafts shot down out of 16 in flight!): Players are divided on two tables, the main focus was leading a two-seat escorted by three fighters to photograph a target protected by artillery and contraaerea and enemy fighters.
Scenario open to different strategies that saw the opportunity to accompany the two-seat of his faction, or go hunting for the enemy to prevent the completion of the mission to his opponents; three of the four two-seater have failed the mission failing to bring back the precious photos of the objectives because shot down by the implacable enemy fighters. In one of the tables, Maurizio puts a serious threat to the final victory succeeding to break down the beauty of three enemy planes, while on the table next Andrea was peremptorily down by the Gianluigi’s first fire.
Last scenario: one vs one dogfight with two air-to-head, where the ranking has not suffered major reversals except for Giorgio, beating Sergio (two aircraft shot down, but apologized because he was distracted by the organizational efforts!), earned the third place behind the confirmed second Paolo.
Thanks to Rosario and Maicol, owners of the shop Warzone who hosted us and offered final awards together some aircraft offered by Nexus.
At the end of June 2011 the seventh edition to find other ACES!!

Thanks for that Sergio. A very lucid and full report, on what I deduce from your reportage was a most enjoyable tournament for you all. These items of news on the forum, are always a welcome addition to stimulate us into more adventures over the fields of Flanders or the the alpine passes ourselves.:)
Thanks again.
