Hello all,

Just picked up a book called White's Flight by Fred and Elizabeth Brenchley.

An Australian pilot's epic escape from a Turkish prison camp to Russia's Revolution.

Front cover has a photo of Thomas Walter White (1888 - 1957), at the controls of what looks to be a DH-2. There is not one reference to the cover photo in the whole book.

However inside are some classic photos of aircraft at Point Cook (Australian Flying Corps training base).

They include a Bristol Boxkite, powered by the 50hp Gnome engine.

A Bleriot monoplane, and a BE2a, one of the first aircraft used by the Flying Corps.

Thomas White was one of the first graduate pilots from Point Cook in 1915.

He was inspired to fly after watching the great escapologist Harry Houdini, give daring flying demonstrations on a visit to Australia in 1910.

I give this book a big thumbs up, this is real boy's own adventure stuff....:D
