Early in the war many countries simply used clear-doped linen on their planes, which turned out to a cream or buff color. Windsock publications uniformly describe clear-doped linen as Methuen 4A3 to 4C3.

First the usual caveats: Unless you've got a high-end, wide-gamut monitor in perfect calibration (and who does?), do not trust the colors you see on your monitor! Instead, visit your local paint store and see if you can find paint samples like the ones listed below and then match your hobby paints against those. The goal is just to "get close". See 'Color: why we'll never get it exactly right' (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?24990-Color-why-we-ll-never-get-it-exactly-righthttp://).

 Thanks again Daryl!
I found the old Games Workshop "Bleached Bone" was a pretty good choice for CDL.

And me!
Now as an alternative I have started using "RFC Clear Doped Linen" and "German Clear Doped Linen" from Albion Alloys.

Vallejo Iraqi Sand is my most common go-to, but I use all manner of off-white to pale sand shades on occasion.

I was hoping to test Vallejo Pale Sand (70.837) but the local hobby store was out of stock. Buff (70.976) and Flesh (70.928) were a little off. None of the local dealers have the GW line, but I found one with Reaper paints and there might be a good match there.
