After having posted my ideas for BAIL OUT rules, here are some ideas for what happens to downed pilots and crew members. These rules are intended to add flavor to the end of your games, and help deturmine pilot/crew status after a battle for campaign or league play.

Battle is over Water
1. If the pilot/crew are downed in a sea, ocean or on an island, place a marker on the table to represent them.
2. After the game is over Draw 1 "A" damage token.
If the result is 4 or more or the Explosion, the pilot/crew is never heard from again. Otherwise they will be recovered by the side that won the combat. POW's are removed from campaign or league play.


Battle is over Land
1. When a pilot/crew is downed, place a marker on the table to represent them, either as a group or individuals as you choose.
2. If the pilot/crew is in friendly territory, they simply make their way back to base.
3. If the pilot/crew is behind enemy lines, draw 1 "A" damage token according to the circumstances of the location.

NEAR THE FRONT
If the token drawn is a ZERO (0) the pilot/crew make it back to base with a story of the escape to tell.

If the token drawn is any other number the pilot/crew have become POW's and are removed from campaign or leage play.

If the token drawn is the Explosion the pilot/crew have been killed trying to evade capture.

DEEP IN ENEMY TERRITORY
If the token drawn is a 3 or higher the pilot/crew make it back to base with a hair raising story of the hardships of evasion and escape to tell.

If the token drawn is a 2 or less, the pilot/crew have become POW's and are removed from campaign or league play.

If the token drawn is the explosion the pilot/crew have been killed trying to evade capture.

These look pretty interesting...will have to give them a try. Right now we're trying yo move along with Knight's campaign. They have different rules for downed pilots returning.
