Last night Mike was supposed to bring his late war planes and three mats. He couldn't make it, so I had to quickly scrap together something with what I threw in the truck for three players:

190623
Two German Fiats just finished a photo recon mission and are enjoying the view of the countryside before turning home.

190624
A pair of enterprising Yak pilots see an opportunity...

190625
A mixed of flight of Italians looking for their wayward allies.

190626
Engagement begins.

190627
Time to close the canopies (at least those of us that have them).

190628
Italians may be too far to make a difference.

190629
Germans turn tail and run (jog?)

190630
Italians still out of the fight...

190631
Yaks gaining

190634
Italians just might make it in time.

190636
Germans turn into the fight. Too bad they don't speak Italian.
(And yes, we further inhibited the game by not letting the Germans and Italians share plans!)

190640
Italians lining up their shots on the tailing Soviet.

190643
...and the meatball begins.

190600
Splash one Fiat (and his roll of film).

190645
The last German wishing he had taken Italian in school.

190650
Safe? Among Friends?
"Make way meine freunden!"

190652
Soviets turning on the hunters.

190653
Just about a fair fight.

190654
While the big boys are in a scrap, the lone German finds his escape.

190655
Fiat pilot mistranslated "scappa" for "komm her"

Luckily the Italians vanquished the Yaks, allowing the lone German Fiat to limp home.
A fun game for a last minute scenario.

Thanks Andrezj, it gives the illusion of the planes zooming around in the distance.

Pics were moved between folders, I'll look at replacing them from the original source and see if they grow.

Enlarged. We feel the same way about the aircraft cards!:deadhorse:

However, now you can see how bad I focus a camera. Can't seem to rotate pictures properly either...

It was fun. Our first outing where everyone had to handle two planes.

Just catching up with AARs Allan.
That certainly was a fun scrap with some unusual contenders.
A success often comes unexpectedly out of a hastily arranged game.
I enjoyed that a lot.
Rob.
