The game was played at the Williamsburg Muster 2016

Sink The Bismark

Once again the Royal Navy and Coastal Command looking for the Bismark.

Forces: German: Bismark, placed in the center of the board.

British: Five Swordfish and a PBY circling observing the action.

Map: The map has scattered clouds with the Bismark centered on the board. The Swordfish started two firing sticks from the Bismark at the players choice.

Special rules: AA damage was pulled two "C" at long range and three "C" short range. The torpedoes did two "D" damage. The intention was to damage and slow the Bismark!

The action started slowly as the Swordfish closed. My own part in this was to short and wet! I made my attack and managed to inflict 4 points of torpedo damage but started a fire from Strafing. The return AA fire bordered on the miraculous. I pulled two engine hits worth six points each. That dropped me in the drink. Stuart, Bob, Mark and Dave carried on. The Bismark was assigned 40 hit points. In the end with double rudder damage multiple engine damage, fire and smoke the Bismark sank!

I want to thank Stuart, Bob and Dave. Plus one of the new members Mark for making it a great game! Bob and mark took some great photos. Bob are in his AAR of the game and marks are in the WM post. http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?24266-Sink-the-Bismark http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?23886-Wiliamsburg-Muster-2016-Febuary-Febuary-4-7th

I agree, completely. Sink the Bismarck and Channel Dash scenarios bring a ton of really cool things together. Thanks for sharing the pics! :sAprvd:

Those look like a wonderful pair of games!

Please forgive me if this is covered somewhere I've missed - what deck does the U boat use to manoeuvre?

If i use the ships at all i take the I deck and use the straight , left and right card. If you look in the files section, under campaigns you will see some other ideas.

Darn it! I missed that one! I usually catch your games for the Williamsburg conventions. I'll see you at this Guns of August. Great looking game, by the way.:sAprvd:
