Ordered some Me163b "Komet" fighters from AIM, equipped with bases + magnets from Aerodrome Acessoires and decals from 1/144 Direct.

"Kraftei" (Poweregg) was another name for the Me163b. Maybe we see some in action during SummerCon 2016.

Sven work out the rules for these babies and I would love to include them, if I may be so bold, in my game at SummerCon.
These are lovely, too, Sven - and I just happen to have one of these to paint, too! Thanks for breaking the ice and getting this thread going - I look forward to seeing what you come up with for rules for these little jumping fleas...;)
All the best,
Matt

Very nice 163s Sven!
It'd be great to see more of these in the air; shouldn't be too difficult, after all it's not rocket science..................ooh, hang on, though!

Love those little rocket ships! Once read a fascinating book about their development and deployment... wonder if I can dig it up...?
You are getting ready for Prague!

I missed this thread I do not know why. Magnificent planes.
Being in love with the jets and L'46 concept I would like to implement them into the WGS system.
Just ordered 6 of them from AIM, painting and gimbal mounting will follow.
Something to account for the fact that once its modest fuel supply is exhausted it is a glider, and given the nature of its extremely corrosive fuel, it might not smoke when hit but instead dissolve the pilot.......

On the other hand pilots reported on it's high maneuverability. Interesting challenge for a card designer.

Finally my flight of Kraftei vel. Komets is ready. These are AIM resin 1:200 models painted in a semi-historical scheme.
The general pattern and the colours seem to be pretty authentic: RLM 81/82/76 Pactra range: Braunviolett/Lichtgruen/Blaugrau.
The crosses are late war generic ones, but not the ones typical balkenkreuze: I picture the planes as the late war batch so the white upperside crosses and black on lowerside were highly probable.
Moreover, as the late war planes bore the crosses aligned not to the axis of the plane, but to the edge of the wings, I placed them this way.
The tactical numbers are fantasy.
And the Red one: It was a joy to paint that craft! The original one was the operational one: Me 163 B-0 (V41) PK+QL flown by Wolfgang Spaete, Erprobungskommando 16, Bad Zwischenahn. 1943. The mechanics of Spaete painted the plane red just to remember the famous Red Baron.
Spaete flown his first combat mission in this plane on 13 May 1944. His task was to intercept a recon P-47, according to the Wuerzburg radar idenctification. He failed, however, due to Komet's engine malefunction.
My Red is a fantasy one, flown by an unknown Komet Ace. You can see a propaganda oversized swastika (damn, I ran out of the smaller ones!) [of which the pilot was not very happy, but had to follow the Kommandeur's order] and yellow kill markers on the tail fin. The Ace has just been awarded with a Knight's Cross with swords, so his mechanic proudly painted the Cross on the upperside of the fuselage.
I am truly pleased how they turned out. So pleased, that the "White 2" will be a prize for one of the forumers in the coming historical Quiz of mine.
Stay tuned and watch for the Quiz starts right tomorrow, Sunday 20 Nov. at noon!
Thanks for reading and watching.:)
