View Full Version : Visual Speed Comparison
Thought I would share this. I made a visual side by side speed comparison chart. Eventually I want to do one that shows turn radius comparisons in conjunction with speed.

Neat! That's very useful.
If you want to add the S deck from Crossfire, it would be the second fastest speed, like B deck.

Very nice indeed... but you need to edit it to look like this:

I think I have all the planes in a clear PNG with the drop down shadows already... would just need to be sized to what you want. Just my thoughts anyways!

Don't you Yanks come up with the darndest things. I take my flying helmet off to you.
Rob.
Nice reference chart. The turn chart would be real good.

Here's a demonstration of turning radius (made before FotG):

Nice visual presentation of relative speeds across the maneuver decks!

Very cool chart. I like the addition of the planes as the Col. added. Great reference for the new and veteran players alike.

You can find the decks sorted by size in that file as well:

Love it. I'll have to redo it. :)

Great idea Don! Great job guys!

Good job, that chart really tells everything about different speeds! But should decks Q and R be vice versa? If I remember right the Nieuport 16 (R deck) isn't as fast as Albatross D.Va... :)
...Ah, I meant faster than Aviatik D.I (Q). :D
jeje
its incredible the faster the big boys are....
Ok, here's the latest version. When I get the top down art for manuever decks Q and S I'll update the image.

Nice and Thanks
I like it when some one else does all the work for me. Not enough time in the day to play the game yet alone study it.
Thanks again
Mike George
Here is the turn comparison. Let me know what you think.

Hi Don. Is there a way to have the turns all inside each other, as opposed to crossing the lines? When I did CAD drafting we always tried to avoid crossing lines if possible. Regardless, another very cool graphic. You do great work!

Yes I did that, but the plane images overlapped a bit, I do on that way too.
Ok Hows this?

That looks pretty good. Had you considered going with a 90 degree arc as opposed to a 180 to avoid overlaps? I thought you were going to use 90's when you first mentioned it, but the 180's look pretty cool.

No, wanted to compare the standard 60 degree turns which every deck has. Maybe later compare the 90s.

Oh. Right. My bad. I don't know why I said 90 degree. I was thinking the 60 degree turns. My brain wasn't working right! LOL!! I think the full 180 helps better represent the turning radius with the 60's.
