This sirrob fellow made a bunch of great looking models that I used back when I did paper army models.
Now he's turned his sights to aircraft, specifically the BoB.

At the bottom of the article, he also shows how to use copies of the WoW plane cards as part of the base.

Interesting blog. I'm rather interested in flats, and only wish my skills with graphics programs was better. Whipping out an army with a few print commands, and some careful cutting has it's attractions.

The Junior General website has many flats from different historical periods.
The forums have discussions on designing the flats.

The free IrfanView is a simple but powerful graphics program which can be used for designing flats.
IrfanView is only slightly more difficult than Paint.
